RT Normae is an R Coronae Borealis type variable star in the constellation Norma. It has a baseline magnitude of 9.8, dropping down to 14.7 at its minima. [2]

It has less than 55% the mass of the Sun and an effective (surface) temperature of around 7000 K. [3]

RT Aurigae is a yellow supergiant variable star in the constellation Auriga, about 1,500 light years from Earth.

Mu1 Cancri, Latinized from μ1 Cancri, is an evolved red giant star in the zodiac constellation of Cancer. Parallax measurements made by the Hipparcos spacecraft put it about 740 light years (230 parsecs) from the Sun. At that distance, the visual magnitude is diminished by an extinction factor of 0.28. R Horologii variable star in the constellation Horologium

R Horologii is a red giant star approximately 1,000 light-years away in the southern constellation of Horologium. It is a Mira variable with a period of 404.83 days, ranging from apparent magnitude 4.7 to 14.3—one of the largest ranges in brightness known of stars in the night sky visible to the unaided eye. The star is losing mass at the rate of 5.9×10−7 M·y−1.

R Andromedae star in the constellation Andromeda

R Andromedae is a Mira-type variable star in the constellation Andromeda. Its spectral class is type S because it shows absorption bands of zirconium monoxide (ZrO) in its spectrum. It was among the stars found by Paul Merrill to show absorption lines of the unstable element technetium, establishing that nucleosynthesis must be occurring in stars. The SH molecule was found for the first time outside earth in the atmosphere of this star. The star is losing mass due to stellar winds at a rate of 1.09×106M/yr.

HD 123657, or BY Boötis, is a variable star of magnitude 4.98–5.33V. This makes it a dim naked eye star. The star is located near the end of the handle of the Big Dipper, but just within the boundaries of the constellation Boötes.

TX Piscium carbon star visible to the naked eye in the constellation Pisces

TX Piscium is a variable carbon star in the constellation Pisces. It is amongst the reddest naked eye stars, with a significant reddish hue when seen in binoculars. It is approximately 900 light years from Earth.

VX Sagittarii star

VX Sagittarii is a red supergiant or red hypergiant located more than 1.5 kiloparsec away from the Sun in the constellation of Sagittarius. It is also one of the largest stars discovered so far, with a radius varying between 1,350 and 1,940 solar radii (940,000,000 and 1.35×109 km; 6.3 and 9.0 au).

U Hydrae is a single star in the equatorial constellation of Hydra, near the northern constellation border with Sextans. It is a semiregular variable star of sub-type SRb, with its brightness ranging from visual magnitude (V) 4.7 to 5.2 over a 450-day period, with some irregularity. This object is located at a distance of approximately 680 light years from the Sun based on parallax. It is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −26 km/s.

W Cygni semi-regular variable star

W Cygni is a semi-regular variable star in the constellation Cygnus, located 570 light-years from Earth. It lies less than half a degree southeast of ρ Cygni.

V Coronae Australis is a R Coronae Borealis variable star in the constellation Corona Australis. These are extremely hydrogen-deficient supergiants thought to have arisen as the result of the merger of two white dwarfs; fewer than 100 have been discovered as of 2012. AC Herculis

IRAS 08544−4431 variable star

IRAS 08544−4431 is a binary system surrounded by a dusty ring in the constellation of Vela. The system contains an RV Tauri variable star and a more massive but much less luminous companion.

S Scuti is a carbon star located in the constellation Scutum. Parallax measurements by Hipparcos put it at a distance of approximately 1,300 light-years. Its apparent magnitude is 6.80, making it visible to the naked eye only under excellent conditions.

W Orionis is a carbon star in the constellation Orion, approximately 400 parsecs (1,300 ly) away. It varies regularly in brightness between extremes of magnitude 4.4 and 6.9 roughly every 7 months.
