History
Started in 1981 as a Radio Hermann in Raeren near a train station in an improvised studio in an attic for the first few months. Soon after the station moved to Eupen and was renamed to "Radio Aktivität". Under this name the station developed and fairly quickly became the largest and most popular local radio station of the German Community.
In 1987 its first "real" commercial was aired. In collaboration with the Grenz-Echo, in 1986 it launched local news, which were quickly supplemented by World news. After the radio landscape developed rapidly in eastern Belgium in the early 90s, Radio Aktivität decided to look for a strong partner, and so in November 1995 Radio Contact Eupen was born. Completely independent broadcast from the Aachener Strasse in Eupen from the German-speaking produced program one of the most successful Belgian commercial broadcaster.
In December 2000, the corporation Cobel D was created, which produces the German-language program of Radio Contact Eupen. Since May 2002, the station can also be heard in the south of the German-speaking Community.
Today Radio Contact Ostbelgien Now, is one of the most listened private ward throughout the German-speaking community.
Eupen is the capital of German-speaking Community of Belgium and is a city and municipality in the Belgian province of Liège, 15 kilometres from the German border (Aachen), from the Dutch border (Maastricht) and from the "High Fens" nature reserve (Ardennes). The town is also the capital of the Euroregion Meuse-Rhine.
The German-speaking Community, since 2017 also known as East Belgium, is one of the three federal communities of Belgium. Covering an area of 854 km2 (330 sq mi) within the Liège Province in Wallonia, it includes nine of the eleven municipalities of Eupen-Malmedy. Traditionally speakers of Low Dietsch, Ripuarian, and Moselle Franconian varieties, the local population numbers 77,949 – about 7.0% of Liège Province and about 0.7% of the national total.
The Radio-télévision belge de la Communauté française is a public service broadcaster delivering radio and television services to the French-speaking Community of Belgium, in Wallonia and Brussels. Its counterpart in the Flemish Community is the Dutch-language VRT, and in the German-speaking Community it is BRF.
The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation is the Swiss public broadcasting association, founded in 1931, the holding company of 26 radio and television channels. Headquartered in Bern, the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation is a non-profit organisation, funded mainly through radio and television licence fees (70%) and making the remaining income from advertising and sponsorship.
RTL is a French commercial radio network owned by the RTL Group. Founded in 1933 as Radio Luxembourg, it broadcast from outside France until 1981 because only public stations had been allowed until then. It is a general-interest, news, talk and music station, broadcasting nationally in France, French-speaking Belgium, and Luxembourg. RTL also broadcasts on long wave frequency 234 KHz from Beidweiler which can be picked up in large parts of the continent. It has a sister station called Bel RTL tailored for the French Community of Belgium. As of 2018, RTL is France's most popular radio station with an average of 6.4 million daily listeners that year.
K.A.S. Eupen is a Belgian professional association football club located in Eupen, Province of Liège, which currently plays in Belgian First Division A, the top tier of Belgian football. The club was formed on 9 July 1945 through the merger of two older Eupen clubs, Jugend Eupen and FC Eupen 1920.
Roj TV was an international Kurdish satellite television station broadcasting programmes in the Kurmanji, Sorani and Hewrami dialects of the Kurdish language as well as in Persian, Zaza, Arabic, and Turkish.
Eupen-Malmedy is a small, predominantly German-speaking region in eastern Belgium. It consists of three administrative cantons around the towns of Eupen, Malmedy, and Sankt Vith which encompass some 730 square kilometres (280 sq mi). Elsewhere in Belgium, the region is commonly referred to as the East Cantons.
Belgischer Rundfunk (BRF) is the public-service broadcasting organisation serving the German-speaking Community of Belgium. Based in Eupen, with additional studio facilities in Sankt Vith and Brussels, BRF produces one television and three radio channels.
Grenz-Echo is the only German language daily newspaper published in Eupen, Belgium, aimed at the German-speaking community and the neighbouring areas in the east of the country.

The IKOB Museum of Contemporary Art is a cultural institution in the Province of Liège (Belgium). It is situated in Eupen, the largest city in the German-speaking Community of Belgium. It was founded in 1993 by Francis Feidler as the "IKOB - International Art Centre of East Belgium" and was renamed to its current name in 2005. Since then, the IKOB is the only recognised art museum in the German-speaking Community of Belgium. IKOB is an abbreviation for "Internationales Kunstzentrum Ostbelgien in Eupen".

Radio Contact is a Belgian commercial music radio station created in 1980, broadcasting in French in the French Community of Belgium.
The Land of Eupen or Eupen Land, corresponding to the Canton of Eupen, is the northern part of the German-speaking Community of Belgium, lying on the border with Germany. Eupen is the capital of this region. To the south lies the Canton of Sankt Vith, which makes up the rest of the German-speaking Community.
Herbesthal railway station was the Prussian/German frontier station on the main railway from Germany into Belgium between 1843 and 1920. It opened to rail traffic on 15 October 1843, and was thereby the oldest railway station frontier crossing in the world. It lost its border status on 10 January 1920, however, as a result of changes mandated in the Treaty of Versailles, which left Herbesthal more than 10 km inside Belgium.
Alfred Lecerf was a politician of the German-speaking Community of Belgium. He was a member of the Christian Social Party (CSP).
100,5 Das Hitradio is a radio station from Eupen, a town in the German speaking part of Belgium. The station is on the air since 1998 and broadcasts under the motto: "Die Super Hits der 80er, der 90er und das Beste von heute".
