Radio Contact Ostbelgien Now is a German language version of the French speaking radio station Radio Contact broadcasting to the German-speaking Community of Belgium.
Started in 1981 as a Radio Hermann in Raeren near a train station in an improvised studio in an attic for the first few months. Soon after the station moved to Eupen and was renamed to "Radio Aktivität". Under this name the station developed and fairly quickly became the largest and most popular local radio station of the German Community.
In 1987 its first "real" commercial was aired. In collaboration with the Grenz-Echo, in 1986 it launched local news, which were quickly supplemented by World news. After the radio landscape developed rapidly in eastern Belgium in the early 90s, Radio Aktivität decided to look for a strong partner, and so in November 1995 Radio Contact Eupen was born. Completely independent broadcast from the Aachener Strasse in Eupen from the German-speaking produced program one of the most successful Belgian commercial broadcaster.
In December 2000, the corporation Cobel D was created, which produces the German-language program of Radio Contact Eupen. Since May 2002, the station can also be heard in the south of the German-speaking Community.
Today Radio Contact Ostbelgien Now, is one of the most listened private ward throughout the German-speaking community.

Studio 1 is the production studio. It was as if it did not exist Studio 2 once long, long ago, there was Studio 1 broadcast studio.
As the size of the station grew it then moved from Studio 2 to go ON AIR.
It has a digital archive of nearly 12,000 titles. The "best mix" consists of approximately 1,900 titles that are exchanged regularly.
Most of the music is from the 80's and 90's. In addition, of course, the hits from 2000 and many current titles.
Everything that goes ON AIR comes from a hard disk. Only the CD of the week is actually a CD.
Broadcasts are all managed by the presenters themselves, that there is no technician. Since 2019, Grenz-Echo holds 51% of the shares of Radio Contact Ostbelgien Now.

The German-speaking Community, also known as East Belgium, is one of the three federal communities of Belgium, with an area of 854 km2 (330 sq mi) in the Liège Province of Wallonia, including nine of the eleven municipalities of Eupen-Malmedy. The primary language of the community is German, making this one of the three official languages in Belgium. Traditionally the community and the wider area around it forms an intersection of various local languages and/or dialects, namely Limburgish, Ripuarian and Moselle Franconian varieties. The community population numbers around 79,000 – about 7.0% of Liège Province and about 0.7% of the national total.

Founded in 1933 as Radio Luxembourg, it broadcast from outside of France until 1981 because only public stations had been allowed until then. It is a general-interest, news, talk and music station, broadcasting nationally in France, Francophone Belgium, and Luxembourg. Until 2022, RTL was also broadcast on long wave frequency 234 kHz from Beidweiler which could be picked up in large parts of the continent. It has a sister station called Bel RTL tailored for the French Community of Belgium. As of 2018, RTL is France's most popular radio station with an average of 6.4 million daily listeners that year.
K.A.S. Eupen is a Belgian professional association football club located in Eupen, Province of Liège, which currently plays in the Belgian Pro League, the top tier of Belgian football. The club was formed on 9 July 1945 through the merger of two older Eupen clubs, Jugend Eupen and FC Eupen 1920.
Belgischer Rundfunk (BRF) is the public-service broadcasting organisation serving the German-speaking Community of Belgium. Its headquarters are based in Eupen. With additional studio facilities in Sankt Vith and Brussels, BRF produces one television and three radio channels.

The IKOB Museum of Contemporary Art is a cultural institution in the Province of Liège (Belgium). It is situated in Eupen, the largest city in the German-speaking Community of Belgium. It was founded in 1993 by Francis Feidler as the "IKOB - International Art Centre of East Belgium" and was renamed to its current name in 2005. Since then, the IKOB is the only recognised art museum in the German-speaking Community of Belgium. IKOB is an abbreviation for "Internationales Kunstzentrum Ostbelgien in Eupen".

RTL-TVI is a private French-language, Belgium-based television station owned by DPG Media and Groupe Rossel, it was originally owned by the RTL Group until 31 March 2022. Till 2022 it broadcast with a Luxembourgish licence but the new owners preferred a Belgian licence. Within the French-speaking area of Belgium, it is the most popular channel with a 20 percent viewing share. It was the first commercial television station in Belgium.

Eupen is the capital of this region. To the south lies the Canton of Sankt Vith, which makes up the rest of the German-speaking Community.
Herbesthal railway station was the Prussian/German frontier station on the main railway from Germany into Belgium between 1843 and 1920. It opened to rail traffic on 15 October 1843, and was thereby the oldest railway station frontier crossing in the world. It lost its border status on 10 January 1920, however, as a result of changes mandated in the Treaty of Versailles, which left Herbesthal more than 10 km (6.2 mi) inside Belgium.
