Raechel Angela Whitchurch (born Raechel Angela Lee 26 April 1986/1987) is an Australian country music singer and songwriter. [1] She started as a singer-guitarist in her family's travelling band, the Lees, in 1999. As a solo artist Whitchurch issued her debut album, Finally Clear, in April 2021.

Biography

Raechel Lee was born on 26 April 1986/1987, into a country music family, and was raised in Broken Hill. [2] [3] [4] Her father Stephen explained that he and wife Tracey were inspired by seeing Dead Ringer Band, back in 1993. [2] For the next six years, the parents bought instruments and taught their children to play and sing. [2] Initially they performed at small New South Wales towns during school holidays. [5] From 1999, the whole family toured Australia as the Lees, with Stephen on lead guitar, Tracey on bass guitar, Raechel on vocals and guitar, brother Jarod on drums, sisters Faith and Savannah on vocals. [2] [6] In June 2005 the Lees appeared on Australian Broadcasting Corporation's rural TV programme, Landline , after six years of touring. [2] The family relocated from Broken Hill to Parkes in early 2006. [4] The Lees issued their third album of country, folk/roots music, Welcome Road in 2010 via Revolver Records. [6] Previous albums are The Lees (2000) and Time to Kill (2006). [7]

Lee reached the audition semi-final of Australian Idol in August 2006. [8] [9] With fellow Idol contestant, Lisa Mitchell, she performed gigs in rural New South Wales in April 2007. [5] Lee resumed performing with her family's band. [9] By July 2010 the singer had married Ben Whitchurch, who is also a musician. [10] [11] The Whitchurches moved to Sydney in 2011. As from May 2021 the couple have two children. [12] In April 2016 Raechel Whitchurch released a four-track extended play, Outlaw, produced by Bill Chambers. [13] [14] Chambers issued his album, Cold Trail, in 2017. [14] Whitchurch and Chambers undertook a combined tour to promote their respective releases during that year. [14] Her debut album, Finally Clear was released in April 2021 and was produced by Matt Fell. Australian Idol is an Australian singing competition, which began its first season in July 2003 and ended its initial run in November 2009. As part of the Idol franchise, Australian Idol originated from the reality program Pop Idol, which was created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller. Five of her twelve studio albums have reached No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, Barricades & Brickwalls, Wayward Angel, CarnivalRattlin' Bones and Dragonfly. In November 2018 she was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and has won an additional fourteen ARIA Music Awards with nine for Best Country Album. Her autobiography, A Little Bird Told Me..., which was co-authored with music journalist, Jeff Apter, was released in 2011.

Brian McFadden Irish singer

Brian Nicholas McFadden is an Irish pop singer and television presenter who rose to fame in 1998 as a member of the Irish boy band Westlife. Following his departure from the group in 2004, McFadden released his debut solo album, Irish Son. TZU

TZU were an Australian hip hop group, formed in 1999 by Joelistics, Yeroc, Seed MC and Paso Bionic. They used instruments in live performances, giving their shows a rock-infused feeling. Duzy What joined in 2005. TZU released four studio albums, Position Correction (2004), Smiling at Strangers (2005), Computer Love and Millions of Moments (2012), before disbanding in 2013.

Vika and Linda

Vika and Linda, also known as Vika and Linda Bull, are an Australian vocal duo consisting of Vika Susan Bull and her younger sister, Linda Rose Bull. They came to prominence after singing backing vocals in Joe Camilleri's band The Black Sorrows from 1988. They left that group early in 1994 to start their duo with a self-titled album appearing in June that year. Lisa Mitchell Australian singer-songwriter

Lisa Helen Mitchell is an Australian singer-songwriter who grew up in Albury, New South Wales. Mitchell currently lives in Melbourne and is working on her fourth studio album. Mitchell finished sixth in the 2006 season of Australian Idol. Her debut extended play, Said One to the Other, topped iTunes in Australia and she signed with London-based publisher, Little Victories, a subsidiary of Sony/ATV. By 2008 Mitchell had relocated to the UK where she recorded her debut studio album, Wonder, which peaked at No. 6 on the ARIA Albums Chart. She won the 2009 Australian Music Prize of $30,000 for the album. Mitchell returned to Australia to live in Melbourne. Her second album, Bless This Mess reached No. 7. The McClymonts are an Australian country music trio comprising sisters Brooke McClymont, Samantha McClymont and Mollie McClymont, originally from Grafton, New South Wales. Catherine Elisabeth Britt is an Australian country music artist who has had success in both her native Australia and in the United States. She started her career in Newcastle in 1999, she moved to Nashville from 2002 to 2008 and then returned to Australia. Britt has had three singles in top 40 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs charts with "The Upside of Being Down", her highest, peaking at No. 36 in 2004. Britt has released seven studio albums in Australia, where all seven have appeared on the ARIA Albums Chart, Too Far Gone, Little Wildflower, Catherine Britt and Always Never Enough. All five albums have been nominated for ARIA Music Awards in the category, Best Country Album. Britt married her then-partner, James Beverley, in October 2013; the couple have two children. Britt was diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2015; she underwent surgery and chemotherapy.

Beccy Cole, also known as Beccy Sturtzel, Rebecca Diane Albeck and Bec O'Donovan, is an Australian country music singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She has released ten studio albums, with six reaching the ARIA Albums Chart top 40, Little Victories, Preloved, Songs & Pictures, Great Women of Country, Sweet Rebecca and The Great Country Songbook Volume 2. Her video album, Just a Girl Singer, peaked at No. 6 on the ARIA Top 40 DVD Chart. Cole has received nine Golden Guitar trophies at the CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia. Natalie Gauci Musical artist

Natalie Rose Gauci is an Australian musician, producer and teacher. Gauci undertook music tuition at the Victorian College of the Arts, formed her own band that played gigs in Melbourne, while also working as a music teacher. After an appearance on national radio station Triple J's talent contest, Unearthed, she successfully auditioned for the fifth series of Australian Idol in 2007 and went on to win the series.

Wesley Dean "Wes" Carr, also recording as Buffalo Tales, is an Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, best known for winning the sixth season of Australian Idol in 2008. He released his first studio album, Simple Sum, independently in 2008 shortly before entering Australian Idol. After Idol, he signed a record deal with Sony Music Australia and released his debut single, "You". The song peaked at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified Gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). Carr's second studio album, The Way the World Looks, soon followed after. It reached number two on the ARIA Albums Chart and also achieved Gold certification. The second single "Feels Like Woah" peaked at number 14 and gained Gold certification. In June 2011, Carr released "Been a Long Time", the lead single from his third album. It peaked at number 33 on the ARIA Singles Chart. In November 2011, Carr announced that he was no longer with Sony and would be releasing his album independently. In August 2012 Carr released an EP titled Blood & Bone under the pseudonym Buffalo Tales. His third studio album "Roadtrip Confessions" was released in June 2013 and debuted at number 83.

Amber Louise Lawrence is an Australian country music singer-songwriter-guitarist. Five of her studio albums have reached the ARIA Albums Chart top 50, 3 (2012), Superheroes (2014), Happy Ever After (2016), Our Backyard (2017) and Spark. At the Country Music Awards of Australia Lawrence has won five Golden Guitar trophies: 2015 Best Female Artist of the Year for Superheroes, 2018 Vocal Collaboration of the Year, Song of the Year and Single of the Year for "Our Backyard", and 2021 Vocal Collaboration of the Year for "True Blue".

Her 2016 single "Adore" peaked at number 3 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was also listed at number 2 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2016.
