Rafael Luis Irizarry Cruz is a Puerto Rican politician from the New Progressive Party (PNP). Irizarry served as member of the 22nd Senate of Puerto Rico from 2001 to 2005.
Irizarry was elected to the Senate of Puerto Rico in the 2000 general election. He represented the District of Mayagüez,along with Jorge Ramos Vélez. [1]
He died on March 9,2022 at San Antonio Hospital in Mayagüez,Puerto Rico at the age of 77. He was buried at Atlantic Gardens Veterans Cemetery in Aguadilla,Puerto Rico.

Isla Magueyes is a 7.2 hectares island 50 metres (160 ft) from the southwest coast of the island of Puerto Rico. It is encircled with mangrove and has an interior of dry scrub habitat,where it gets its name from. It is named for the presence of many century plants or maguey. This election was against Jorge Pérez Heredia,candidate for the NPP that year. In the 2016 elections for mayor of Utuado,Ernesto Irizarry Salváwon with 52.44% of the vote while his opponent,Jonathan Tossas of the NPP,obtained 46%.
Guillermo Irizarry-Rubio was a Puerto Rican politician who served as the Secretary of State of Puerto Rico. Appointed by Governor Roberto Sánchez Vilella,he served from 1966 to January 2,1969,when he was responsible and led the first transition team under the Puerto Rican Constitution to the opposing political party. Prior to serving as Secretary of State,which includes the role of Lieutenant Governor of Puerto Rico,Irizarry served as head of Puerto Rico's Bureau of the Budget.
