Rafael "Fito" Ramos (born January 1, 1965) is a retired boxer from Puerto Rico. He competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics and twice won a medal (gold and bronze) at the Pan American Games during his career.

Adolfo Horta was a Cuban amateur boxer, who won the silver medal in the Men's Featherweight division at age 22 at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. He was beaten by East Germany's Rudi Fink on points (1-4). Horta won eleven consecutive national championships and three gold medals in the World Amateur Boxing Championships in different weight classes, which appears to have been a unique achievement, but he would never return to the Olympics, as Cuba boycotted the 1984 Summer Olympics.

Salvatore Todisco was a light flyweight boxer from Italy, who won the silver medal in the light flyweight division at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. In the final he was defeated by Paul Gonzales of the United States. He died in a car accident on November 25, 1990 at the age of 29.

Pentti Olavi Hämäläinen was a Finnish boxer. He competed at the 1952 and 1956 Olympics and won a gold and a bronze medal, respectively. He won two more bronze medals at European championships in 1951 and 1955. Domestically he won six Finnish titles between 1951 and 1956, two in flyweight, two in bantamweight and two in featherweight division. After the 1956 Olympics he turned professional and won five consecutive bouts. He lost his sixth bout in 1959 and retired from boxing, after which he worked as a mechanic and a policeman. Four of his brothers also competed in boxing at the national level. Pentti Hämäläinen died in 1984, aged 54, of undisclosed causes.

Puerto Rico competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics which was held in Beijing, People's Republic of China from August 8 to August 24, 2008. The American territory with a population of four million people qualified 22 athletes in eight different sports. The appearance of the Puerto Rican delegation at the Beijing Olympics marked the commonwealth's sixteenth consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics, and its twenty-second appearance at any Olympic Games, since its debut at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, England. Of its competitors participating in events that involve progression by heats, six athletes advanced at least one round in their events, and two advanced at least two rounds, with Asunción Ocasio almost medaling bronze in taekwondo. However, there were no Puerto Rican medalists at the Beijing Olympics. McWilliams Arroyo, a boxer, bore Puerto Rico's flag at the ceremonies.
