Raindog is a Glasgow-based theatre company founded in 1990 by Robert Carlyle and Alexander Morton.
Raindog's first production, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest , starring Alexander Morton as R.P McMurphy was received with great acclaim in 1991. Robert Carlyle won best director award. The stageplay was so popular that the theatre company produced another version two years later. Their second production, Macbeth, also starring Alexander Morton was equally successful. Robert Carlyle again won Best Director for his adaptation of Shakespeare's most famous play.
Raindog was responsible for bringing Tommy Flanagan ( Gladiator , Braveheart , Face/Off , Aliens vs. Predator ) into public acclaim. Other actors such as Gary Lewis ( Gangs of New York , Billy Elliot ), Barbara Rafferty ( The Last King of Scotland ), Peter Mullan ( Shallow Grave , Braveheart ), Gavin Mitchell ( Still Game ), Kevin McKidd ( Trainspotting ), Caroline Paterson ( EastEnders , King Ralph ), A.J. Morton ( Silent Scream ) and Stuart Davids ( Hamish Macbeth ) were active members of the company.

Jan Tomáš "Miloš" Forman was a Czech film director, screenwriter, actor, and professor who rose to fame in his native Czechoslovakia before emigrating to the United States in 1968.
Alan Cumming is a Scottish actor. His London stage appearances include Hamlet, the Maniac in Accidental Death of an Anarchist, the lead in Bent, The National Theatre of Scotland's The Bacchae and Samuel Beckett's Endgame at The Old Vic opposite Daniel Radcliffe. Robert Carlyle is a Scottish actor and director. His film work includes Trainspotting (1996), The Full Monty (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999), Angela's Ashes (1999), The Beach (2000), and 28 Weeks Later (2007). He has been in the television shows Hamish Macbeth, Stargate Universe, and Once Upon a Time. He won the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Full Monty and a Gemini Award for Stargate Universe, and was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work in Human Trafficking (2005).
Scottish Opera is the national opera company of Scotland, and one of the five national performing arts companies of Scotland. Founded in 1962 and based in Glasgow, it is the largest performing arts organisation in Scotland.

Hamish Macbeth is a Scottish mystery comedy-drama television series produced by BBC Scotland that aired from 26 March 1995 to 4 May 1997. It is loosely based on a series of mystery novels by M. C. Beaton. The series concerns a local police officer, Constable Hamish Macbeth, in the fictitious town of Lochdubh on the west coast of Scotland. The title character was played by Robert Carlyle. It consisted of three series, with the first two series containing six episodes and the third containing eight.
Paul John Ready is a British actor. In 2013–2014, he played Lee in Utopia. In 2016, he played Kevin in Motherland. In 2018, he played the role of Rob MacDonald in the BBC television series Bodyguard, and Harry Goodsir in AMC's The Terror. In 2019, Paul played journalist Nick Caplan in the BBC television series MotherFatherSon. His film credits include The Death of Stalin. He received a commendation at the 2003 Ian Charleson Awards.

Morton was nominated two times for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her performances in August: Osage County and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. On screen, she is known for her performances in films Rookie of the Year (1993), Up in the Air (2009), The Dilemma (2011) and Bluebird (2013). In 2014, Morton began starring as Sergeant Trudy Platt in the NBC drama series Chicago P.D.
Dunsinane is a 2010 play by David Greig. It premiered in a Royal Shakespeare Company production at the Hampstead Theatre from 10 February to 6 March 2010, directed by RSC Associate Director Roxana Silbert and with leads including Siobhan Redmond and Jonny Phillips.
Guy Alexander Masterson is a British actor, writer, theatre director, producer and playwright widely known for his solo theatre performances of Under Milk Wood, Animal Farm, and Shylock by Gareth Armstrong. He is a regular producer at the annual Edinburgh Fringe Festival and responsible for several of its most notable productions including Twelve Angry Men in 2003, The Odd Couple in 2005 and Morecambe in 2009 – which transferred to London's West End and won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment.
In February 2002, it was reported in The Scotsman that Raindog was closing due to lack of funds. [1] Raindog had been receiving an SAC advancement grant, [2] usually awarded to help improve the quality of output. However, a failure to win fixed-term funding of meant that the theater was unable to stay open due to monetary problems.
