Rajkumar Barjatya also known as Raj Kumar Barjatya was an Indian film producer. He was part of the Barjatya family which founded Rajshri Productions. He is best known for producing the blockbuster Bollywood films Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! both directed by his son, Sooraj Barjatya who made his debut with the former film. [2] [3] He died on February 21, 2019, after a brief period of hospitalization in Mumbai.

Early life

Rajkumar Barjatya joined Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1962 and chose Mining Engineering. He resided in Rajendra Prasad Hall of Residence. He quit his studies in the summer of 1962 in order to join Rajshri Productions at the request of his father Tarachand Barjatya.

The film had Salman Khan in the leading role with Bhagyashree making her acting debut, with Alok Nath, Mohnish Bahl, Reema Lagoo, Rajeev Verma, Ajit Vachani, and Laxmikant Berde in supporting roles. Maine Pyar Kiya tells the story of two individuals and relates their journey from friendship to how they fall in love but later have to fight family differences to be together.

Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! is a 1994 Indian Hindi-language musical romantic drama film written and directed by Sooraj Barjatya and produced by Rajshri Productions. The film stars Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan and celebrates Indian wedding traditions by means of a story of a married couple and the relationship between their families; a story about sacrificing one's love for one's family. The basic plot is based on studio's earlier film Nadiya Ke Paar (1982), which was based on Keshav Prasad Mishra's Hindi novel Kohbar Ki Shart. The film features music by Raamlaxman who also composed a 14-song soundtrack, an unusually large number of songs for that period.

Hum Saath-Saath Hain, also abbreviated as HSSH, is a 1999 Indian Hindi-language family drama film written and directed by Sooraj Barjatya under the production and distribution of Rajshri Productions. The film stars an ensemble cast with Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Mohnish Bahl alongside Neelam, Mahesh Thakur, Reema Lagoo and Alok Nath. The story centers on a joint family and its values and togetherness, who grow apart after a misunderstanding.

Sooraj R. Barjatya is an Indian filmmaker who works in Hindi cinema. He has directed and produced some of the most commercially successful Hindi films. His films often include themes of familial ties and values, and are rooted in traditional Indian culture. Barjatya is the chairman of Rajshri Productions, which was formed by his late grandfather Tarachand Barjatya on 15 August 1947, coinciding with India's Independence Day.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language romantic family drama film written and directed by Sooraj Barjatya. Produced by Rajshri Productions, it stars Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor. Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher, Swara Bhaskar, Deepak Dobriyal and Aashika Bhatia play supporting roles. It is the fourth collaboration between Barjatya and Khan after their previous films Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), and Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999), and it is the second collaboration between Khan and Kapoor after Saawariya (2007).

"Didi Tera Devar Deewana" is a 1994 Hindi-language filmi song performed by Lata Mangeshkar and S. P. Balasubrahmanyam for the soundtrack of the 1994 Indian musical romantic drama film Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!. The track was composed by Raamlaxman, while lyrics were written by Dev Kohli. Hum Chaar is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film, written and directed by Abhishek Dixit. It was produced by Rajshri Productions. The movie was creatively produced by Sooraj R. Barjatya. The film marked the acting debuts of Prit Kamani, Simran Sharma, Anshuman Malhotra and Tushar Pandey. The film was Rajshri Productions' (P) Ltd's 58th film.
