Karan Kumar Johar, often informally referred to as KJo, is an Indian filmmaker and television personality, who primarily works in Hindi cinema. He has launched the careers of several successful actors and filmmakers under his company Dharma Productions. The recipient of several accolades, including two National Film Awards and seven Filmfare Awards, he has been honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2020.
Yaadein (transl. Memories) is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language musical drama film written, directed, edited and produced by Subhash Ghai. The ensemble cast cross over film starring Jackie Shroff, Hrithik Roshan, and Kareena Kapoor. The film was released worldwide on 27 July 2001 to negative reviews and was a box office disappointment. Jackie Shroff received a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor at the 47th Filmfare Awards. Despite its box office failure, the film was profitable due to ancillary revenues of ₹21 crore, including ₹8.2 crore from selling music rights to Tips.

He was an established actor of the 1970s and received two Filmfare Award nominations and was one of the popular actors of the 1970s. Chitchor is a 1976 Indian Hindi-language romantic musical film, written and directed by Basu Chatterjee. The film is a Rajshri Productions film produced by Tarachand Barjatya. It is based on a Bengali story, Chittachakor by Subodh Ghosh. K. J. Yesudas and Master Raju won the National Film Awards 1976 for Best Male Playback Singer and Best Child Artist respectively. The film was remade in Telugu as Ammayi Manasu, in Malayalam as Minda Poochakku Kalyanam and in Tamil as Ullam Kavarntha Kalvan. It was also an inspiration for the 1997 Bengali film Sedin Chaitramas and the 2003 film Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.

Rajkumar Barjatya also known as Raj Kumar Barjatya was an Indian film producer. He was part of the Barjatya family which founded Rajshri Productions. He is best known for producing the blockbuster Bollywood films Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! both directed by his son, Sooraj Barjatya who made his debut with the former film. He died on February 21, 2019, after a brief period of hospitalization in Mumbai.
