Juan Casado Fisac (born 1998), known professionally as Ralphie Choo, is a Spanish singer-songwriter and producer.
Fisac was born in Madrid. He grew up in Daimiel, a small town in the province of Ciudad Real, in Castille-La Mancha after moving with his family from an early age. [1] Although it is often cited that he studied a degree in chemical engineering before switching to music, [2] this is a running myth that he has debunked publicly, citing his mother as the main reason for his decision to study Harmony and Musical Production. [3]
His professional career began in 2019 when he started producing beats with friends after an ACL injury while playing soccer forced him to rest at home for two months. [4] He began adding his vocals to original compositions in 2021. [5] His stage name is a mix of The Simpsons character Ralph Wiggum and the series' Valentine's Day special "I Choo Choo Choose You”. [6]
Inspired by the experimentalism of Internet-born music collectives such as Odd Future and PC Music, Ralphie Choo is a founding member of the artistic collective and label "Rusia-IDK", alongside Rusowsky, TRISTÁN!, DRUMMIE and Mori, who all met each other and grouped together online through their manager, Jubera. [7] "Rusia-IDK" artists have a similar artistic vision, aiming to create a bold sound that combines hip-hop with flamenco and reggaeton. [8]
Ralphie Choo's breakthrough occurred in 2022 with “BULERÍAS DE UN CABALLO MALO,” a track that draws inspiration from the flamenco-electronica fusion popularized by Rosalía in El Mal Querer . The song resonated with critics and attracted attention from labels such as 4AD, True Panther, and ultimately Warner Records, with which he signed. [1]
In September 2023, Ralphie Choo launched his debut album, Supernova, which Pitchfork characterized as "bizarre and incongruous—but oddly satisfying." The album blends elements of R&B, hip-hop, reggaeton, and flamenco. [2] It was named one of the best albums of 2023 by Variety. [9]
In September 2024, Ralphie Choo collaborated with fellow Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía on the single "Omega," released on September 25. [10]
An "avant-pop prodigy" [11] and a "musical rebel", Ralphie Choo has cited Frank Ocean, Rosalía, and Yung Lean as his major musical influences. [12] A loyal consumer of American music, he was captivated by the bedroom pop scene of the United States. Inspired by artists like Rex Orange County and Clairo, he aimed to export the genre to the Spanish scene. He has also stated that his artistry delivers from the more “classical" and "flamenco view” of her mother and "punkier" side of his father, citing Outkast, OK Go, Choker, Kanye West, Oklou, Tyler, the Creator, Childish Gambino and Paco de Lucía as direct musical inspirations. Soleá (Soleares) por Bulerías is a flamenco palo. This dance is the product of the intensification of the Soleá rhythm or the deceleration of the Bulería. This cante is an intermediate step between the Soleá and the Bulería but responds to the same rhythm of both.

Presented as experimental and conceptual, revolving around a toxic relationship, the album was inspired by the anonymous 13th-century Occitan novel Flamenca. Therefore, every song on the album is conceived as a chapter of the book. It served as the singer's baccalaureate project, graduating from Catalonia College of Music with honors.

The tour began on March 29, 2019 in Buenos Aires at the Hipódromo de San Isidro, as part of the 2019 Lollapalooza Argentina music festival. The tour mostly visited music festivals. The tour ended at the WiZink Center in Madrid on December 10, 2019 after 43 shows.

Álvaro Lafuente Calvo, better known by his stage name Guitarricadelafuente, is a Spanish singer-songwriter, guitarist and musician based in Zaragoza. Lafuente started posting covers on different social media platforms like Instagram in 2017 while being unsigned. Those covers attracted a modest number of people at first thanks to their mix of indie folk, rumba, and flamenco music. In April 2018 he released his first original song titled "El Conticinio" which he recorded at home with a PlayStation microphone. Lafuente continued posting original songs and started a little tour through selected cities in Spain. In June 2019 he collaborated with Operación Triunfo contestant and fellow friend Natalia Lacunza on her debut single "Nana Triste" which peaked at number 4 on the PROMUSICAE chart. After the single's critical and commercial success, Lafuente continued releasing singles independently.
The 1st Annual Premios Odeón was held on January 20, 2020 at the Teatro Real in Madrid. It was broadcast on Televisión Española at 10 p.m. CET. Nominations were revealed on December 19, 2019 during a press conference where they stated that "this award ceremony is considered the successor of the Premios Amigo and the Premios de la Música" which were canceled in 2007 and 2012 due to the Spanish economical crisis as well as the lack of strength of the Spanish musical industry. Thus, the fact that this award show were able to happen symbolizes the revival of the Spanish musical industry after a long period of weakness and irrelevance.

El Madrileño is the second studio album by Spanish rapper and singer-songwriter C. Tangana. Written by Tangana and co-produced with Alizzz, the album was released through Sony Music on February 26, 2021. With this record, Tangana ventured into a more organic and guitar oriented sound to his previous hip hop and urban releases, focusing in a collaboration album as a tribute to his wide roots. Twelve out of fourteen tracks are in collaboration with other renowned Latin folk, rock or flamenco artists from many countries and ages. The result is a colored mosaic of Tangana's teenage influences and the adoption of a new alter ego named after the album.
Motomami is the third studio album by Spanish singer Rosalía. It was released on 18 March 2022 through Columbia Records. Rosalía enlisted producers Noah Goldstein, Michael Uzowuru, Dylan Wiggins and Pharrell Williams as well as longtime colleague El Guincho to create a concept album about her feelings during the past three years, including troubled times with fame, homesickness and isolation in the form of a collage of the singer's musical influences, especially in Latin music. It was released on 26 May 2017 by Universal Spain as the second single from her debut studio album, Los Ángeles (2017), with production and arrangements by Raül Refree. A music video for the single was released and was directed by Canada. The song is a reimagined work of "Cuando Yo Me Muera", performed by Manolo Caracol and Melchor de Marchena, and "El Querer Que Yo Te Tengo", performed by Manolo Frenegal. However, as the authors' rights of both works have expired, the lyricism of "De Plata" is considered of public domain. It is a new flamenco song in the form of a seguidilla, with aggressive guitar chords and elements of alternative R&B.

The release coincided with Rosalía's 32nd birthday. The song's production was handled by both performers, alongside Dylan Patrice and Noah Goldstein. A Spanish-language love song with a slow 1990s guitar riff, "Omega" expresses finding what you searched for so long and the security with which the person loves.
