Vice Admiral Rama Kant Pattanaik, PVSM, AVSM, YSM is the former Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (DCNS) of Indian Navy and former Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff(DCIDS).

Education

Pattanaik attended the National Defence Academy, as well as the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Army War College, Mhow and National Defence College, New Delhi. [4] [6]

Career

He was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 1 January 1978. He retired as DCNS of the Indian Navy on 31 October 2015, and Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, AVSM succeeded him. [4] [5]

Admiral Laxminarayan Ramdas, PVSM, AVSM, VrC, VSM, ADC was an Indian naval officer who was a flag officer of the Indian Navy. Ramdas first served in the Indian Navy in 1953, before being promoted as a flag lieutenant to Ram Dass Katari, the first Indian Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral. In the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971, he was involved in a naval blockade of East Pakistan, hindering attempts to evacuate 93,000 troops and leading to East Pakistan's surrender. Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, PJG, ADC is a retired Indian naval officer who served as the 23rd Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy. He assumed the office on 31 May 2016 after Admiral Robin K. Dhowan and demitted office three years later on 31 May 2019. During this time, he also served as Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee and Honorary Aide-de-Camp to the President of India.

He assumed office from Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar on 30 January 2019 and served till 31 May 2021 till his retirement. He is succeeded by Vice Admiral Ravneet Singh. Prior to this appointment, he served as chief of staff, Eastern Naval Command.
