The Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino,formerly Partido ng Masang Pilipino,is a populist political party in the Philippines. It is the political party of former Philippine President Joseph E. Estrada. In the May 1998 presidential election,it aligned itself with other political parties to form the Laban ng Makabayang Masang Pilipino.

In 2022,at the age of 98,he returned to government office as the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel in the administration of President Bongbong Marcos.
Vicente Castelo Sotto III,professionally known as Tito Sotto and also known as Tito Sen,is a Filipino politician,entertainer and athlete who served as the 23rd Senate President from 2018 to 2022. Before that,he had two stints each as Senate Majority Leader and Senate Minority Leader. He served a total of four terms in the Senate:1992 to 2004 and 2010 to 2022,tying the record for the longest-serving Senator with Lorenzo Tañada and Franklin Drilon. In between his stints in the Senate,he led the Dangerous Drugs Board for a year. He became the Vice Mayor of Quezon City from 1988 to 1992,and later unsuccessfully ran for vice president in the 2022 elections as Panfilo Lacson's running mate.

He was also a municipal mayor of Tuao,Cagayan,from 1988 to 1995.

The Senate seat vacated by President Benigno Aquino III in 2010 was among the twelve seats to be put for election.
A special election for Cagayan's 2nd district seat in the House of Representatives of the Philippines was held on March 12,2011. The special election was called after the incumbent representative,Florencio Vargas died in July 2010. Vargas' daughter,Baby Aline Vargas-Alfonso,was elected after beating former Cagayan Governor Edgar Lara,Vargas' opponent in the 2010 election. Alfonso would then serve the remainder of her father's term which ended in 2013.
