Rayshawn Pleasant is an American football cornerback for the Tulane Green Wave.

Early life and high school

Pleasant attended West Monroe High School located in West Monroe, Louisiana. Coming out of high school, Pleasant was rated as a three-star recruit, where he committed to play college football for the Tulane Green Wave. [1] [2]

College career

In Pleasant's first collegiate season in 2023, he appeared in nine games where he notched five tackles. [3] [4] In week one of the 2024 season, Pleasant intercepted a pass right before halftime that he returned 100 yards for a touchdown, as he helped the Green Wave beat the Southeastern Louisiana Lions 52-0. [5] For his performance versus Southeastern Louisiana, Pleasant was named the American Athletic defensive player of the week. [6] In week four, Pleasant notched a 94-yard kickoff return touchdown, as he helped the Green Wave to a win over Louisiana. [7] In week six, Pleasant returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown in a 71-20 win over the UAB Blazers, where for his performance he was named the American Athletic special teams player of the week. The 2013 Tulane Green Wave football team represented Tulane University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by second year head coach Curtis Johnson and played home games at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. They were a member of Conference USA in the West Division. This was the Green Wave's last season playing in the Superdome and Conference USA as they will open the new, on-campus Yulman Stadium in the fall of 2014, and move to the American Athletic Conference in July 2014. They finished the season 7–6, 5–3 in C-USA play to finish in fourth place in the West Division. They were invited to the New Orleans Bowl where they lost to Louisiana–Lafayette.

The 2013 New Orleans Bowl was an American college football bowl game that was played on December 21, 2013, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The thirteenth edition of the New Orleans Bowl, it featured the Tulane Green Wave of Conference USA against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns of the Sun Belt Conference. The game began at 8:00 p.m. CST and aired on ESPN. It was one of the 2013–14 bowl games that concluded the 2013 FBS football season. Sponsored by freight shipping company R+L Carriers, the game was officially known as the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. The Ragin' Cajuns defeated the Green Wave by a score of 24–21.
