Phantom Power is the sixth album by Welsh indie rock band Super Furry Animals, released on 21 July 2003 by Epic Records in the United Kingdom. The record was originally conceived as a ten-song concept album using D-A-D-D-A-D guitar tuning, but the band chose to abandon this idea during recording as they didn't want to constrain themselves. The group did attempt to create a "more coherent" album than their past efforts by choosing songs which worked well together. Phantom Power was recorded at the band's own studio, AV Happenings, in Cardiff with the Super Furries producing and engineering themselves for the first time. The album features a range of musical styles, from country rock to techno, although many of the tracks are based around the acoustic guitar. According to chief songwriter and vocalist Gruff Rhys, the album's lyrics deal with "broken relationships and war".
King of Fools is a studio album by British Christian rock band Delirious?,initially released in June 1997. The full-length project showcased a new mainstream sound, whilst retaining many of the core themes found in their Cutting Edge EPs. Stylistically, the album epitomises the band's similarity to U2, an influence which was highlighted by several critics on its release. King of Fools reached No. 13 on the UK album chart, a career-high for the band, and produced four singles. The second, "Deeper", peaked at No. 20 on the UK singles chart on 11 May 1997. It also includes what is possibly the best known Delirious? song, "History Maker", which the band regularly played live throughout their whole career. The album was listed at No. 85 in the 2001 book, CCM Presents: The 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music. The album was nominated for a Grammy.
The Appleseed Cast is an American rock band from Lawrence, Kansas. The band was founded in the early days of emo by singer-guitarist Christopher Crisci and drummer Louie Ruiz. The Appleseed Cast has steadily evolved over the release of eight full-length albums with Crisci serving as the main songwriter. The band has a frequently rotating lineup, with Crisci being the only consistent member since their conception. Currently the band's lineup includes Christopher Crisci, Ben Kimball, Nick Fredrickson and Sean Bergman.

Storyhill is an American folk duo, composed of Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson. The acoustic songwriting duo formed in Bozeman, Montana in 1989 simply as Chris & Johnny. They did not adopt the name Storyhill until 1996. They started performing together in Montana and later Minnesota, creating a strong grass-roots following before surprisingly breaking up in 1997. After this, both Hermanson and Cunningham separately pursued solo and group musical endeavors. Hermanson performed with the band Alva Star and the band The Hopefuls, while Cunningham performed with Sixth Sense and singer-songwriter Justin Roth. Much to their listeners' enjoyment, the pair later happily reunited. After a number of self-produced albums they signed with Red House Records to produce the album Storyhill (2007), which received favorable reviews. The album was voted Best Acoustic Ensemble CD of the year by the Indie Acoustic Music Project. The group is a winner of the 2007 Kerrville New Folk Competition.

Honey was a Christian, ambient rock band composed of Doug Moss, Paul Lagestee, Billy Wan, and Roger Moss. The band recorded three albums between 1997 and 2001. The first two, Lovely and Lost on You, were released on the now-defunct Sub•Lime Records. Their third album, aptly titled Three, was released by Northern Records. The first effort was produced by Christian alt/rock legend Steve Hindalong and was characterised by a rough, guitar-driven sound. For their second effort, production credits were diverse but significant with Jars of Clay's Dan Haseltine and Stephen Mason lending a hand as well as The Prayer Chain alumni Eric Campuzano and Wayne Everett. The result was a more approachable sound that was at once extraordinarily mellow and enormously engaging. As a departure from their first album, the work could be described as a "concept worship album". Indeed, many songs read as abstract praises of God. With their third album, Honey made a strong musical departure, moving to an up-tempo, alt/pop flavour. Thematically, the focus moved from theology to what could be described as "a soundtrack to a wistful, longing, romantic love life". They disbanded soon after the release of Three.

The album was produced by Christoffer Franzén and recorded in Gothenburg during 2012 and 2013. The album contains eleven tracks and has a total running time of 40 minutes. It is the follow-up to the band's debut album Reanimation, and it is Deep Elms 200th release in their catalog.
DV8 was an American, alternative rock band formed in Midlothian, Texas, United States, in 2002. The band consisted of Cash Kelley, John Cade (drums), and David Sposito. In 2004, the band released its debut EP, A Sip of What is to Come. That same year, a promotional DVD was produced by one of the bands sponsors, Monster Energy. In 2005, they were invited to perform at the Download Festival in England's Donington Park. DV8 split up in 2006.
U137 is a cinematic post-rock duo from Borås, Sweden, consisting of musicians Adam Törnblad and Oscar Gullbrandsen. Both artists were part of another post-rock band called Moonlit Sailor, signed to indie label Deep Elm Records. As U137, the Swedish duo styled their sound to be more cinematic in nature, following from earlier traditional rock-influenced work. Their debut album Dreamer On The Run was released by Deep Elm Records in 2013.
On May 8, 2017, Törnblad died at the age of 27.
The Factory in Deep Ellum, formerly the Bomb Factory, is an American music venue and event space located in the Deep Ellum district of downtown Dallas, Texas. It originally operated from 1993 to 1997 and was reopened in March 2015 under new management. Since its reopening, the venue has hosted acts including Erykah Badu, Sturgill Simpson, Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, Disclosure, Don Henley of the Eagles, Future, D'Angelo, Brand New, Hardwell, Chvrches, Kraftwerk, Ludacris and Hatsune Miku.
