Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman, better known by his stage name Karthik, is an Indian actor, playback singer and politician who works in Tamil cinema. He is the son of veteran actor R. Muthuraman. In the 1980s and 90s, Karthik was one of the biggest stars in the industry. He was first introduced by Bharathiraja in the Tamil film Alaigal Oivathillai (1981) and became a lead actor in Tamil films by his own. He has also appeared in some Telugu films where he was initially credited as Murali. Karthik is popularly known as Navarasa Nayagan for his "ability to emote all forms of actions and emotions". He has acted in more than 125 films. He has been the recipient of four Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, a Nandi Award and four Filmfare Awards South.

The film released on 5 October 2007. The dialogue Aahan spoken by Vadivelu in this film is famous.
Kuthu (transl. Punch) is a 2004 Indian Tamil-language masala film directed by A. Venkatesh, starring Silambarasan, Ramya and Kalabhavan Mani. It is a remake of the 2003 Telugu film Dil. The music was composed by Srikanth Deva.
Pokkiri Raja is a 2010 Indian Malayalam-language masala film written by the duo Udaykrishna–Sibi K. Thomas and directed by Vysakh in his directorial debut. The film stars Mammootty and Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shriya Saran in the lead roles, alongside Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan, Salim Kumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Riyaz Khan. The score was composed by C. Rajamani with songs composed by Jassie Gift. The film marked the debut of Shriya Saran in Malayalam cinema.
Vettam (transl. Light) is a 2004 Indian Malayalam-language screwball comedy film directed by Priyadarshan based on a screenplay he had co-written with Udayakrishna-Siby K. Thomas from his story. It was produced by Menaka through Revathy Kalamandhir and distributed by Swargachitra Release. The film stars Dileep and Bhavna Pani with Kalabhavan Mani, Innocent, Janardhanan, Nedumudi Venu and Jagathy Sreekumar in supporting roles. It has over the years attained a cult status.

My Dear Karadi is a 1999 Malayalam comedy drama film written by the duo Udayakrishna-Siby K. Thomas and directed by Sandhya Mohan with Kalabhavan Mani in the lead role. Kalabhavan Mani appears as a bear in major parts of the film. The film was remade in Tamil as Shiva Poojayil Karadi (unreleased), and in Malay as Cinta Beruang (2012) by Rama Narayanan. Mammooty reprises in flash back scenes his character, Varunni from the film Mrigaya.

Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga also known by the initialism VSOP, is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by M. Rajesh. It stars Arya, Tamannaah Bhatia, Santhanam and Muktha. Arya produced the film through his studio The Show People, associating with Prasad V Potluri's PVP cinema. The soundtrack was composed by D. Imman. Nirav Shah and Vivek Harshan handled cinematography and editing, respectively. The film began production in November 2014 and was released on 14 August 2015 to mixed reviews.
Thathi Thavadhu Manasu is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Azhagu Rajasundaram. The film stars Sona, Urvasi Patel and Sindhuri, while Mumtaj, Vadivelu and Kalabhavan Mani also appear in supporting roles. The film was released on 19 December 2003.
