The University of Victoria (UVic) is a public research university located in the municipalities of Oak Bay and Saanich,British Columbia,Canada. Established in 1903 as Victoria College,the institution was initially an affiliated college of McGill University until 1915. From 1921 to 1963,it functioned as an affiliate of the University of British Columbia. In 1963,the institution was reorganized into an independent university.
Concordia University is a public English-language research university located in Montreal,Quebec,Canada. Founded in 1974 following the merger of Loyola College and Sir George Williams University,Concordia is one of the three universities in Quebec where English is the primary language of instruction. As of the 2022–23 academic year,there were 49,898 students enrolled in credit and non-credit courses at Concordia,making the university among the largest in Canada by enrollment. The university has two campuses,set approximately 7 kilometres apart:Sir George Williams Campus is the main campus,located in the Quartier Concordia neighbourhood of Downtown Montreal in the borough of Ville Marie;and Loyola Campus in the residential district of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. With four faculties,a school of graduate studies and numerous colleges,centres and institutes,Concordia offers over 400 undergraduate and over 120 graduate programs and courses.
Since the Partition of British India in 1947 and subsequent creation of the dominions of India and Pakistan,the two countries have been involved in a number of wars,conflicts,and military standoffs. A long-running dispute over Kashmir and cross-border terrorism have been the predominant cause of conflict between the two states,with the exception of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971,which occurred as a direct result of hostilities stemming from the Bangladesh Liberation War in erstwhile East Pakistan.

The Indo-Pakistani war of 1947–1948,also known as the first Kashmir war,was a war fought between India and Pakistan over the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir from 1947 to 1948. It was the first of four Indo-Pakistani wars between the two newly independent nations. Pakistan precipitated the war a few weeks after its independence by launching tribal lashkar (militias) from Waziristan,in an effort to capture Kashmir and to preempt the possibility of its ruler joining India.

The students' society was founded in 1921 and incorporated in 1964. It provides services and operates business for students through the Student Union Building (SUB),and historically has advocated for special interests on campus.

He is editor of the international scholarly publication;Journal of Borderlands Studies (JBS),and executive secretary and treasurer of the international scholarly Association for Borderlands Studies.
The Canadian Political Science Association is an organization of political scientists in Canada. It is a bilingual organization and publishes the bilingual journal Canadian Journal of Political Science. The organization is headquartered in Ottawa,Ontario,and has an annual convention in conjunction with the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences. It was founded in 1912.
The Punjabi dialects and languages or Greater Punjabi are a series of dialects and languages spoken around the Punjab region of Pakistan and India with varying degrees of official recognition. Alain-G. Gagnon CC CQ CRC is a Montreal-based scholar who serves as President of the Royal Society of Canada and Vice-President of the International Association of Centers of Federal Studies. Since the 1980s,when he published his first major academic works,Gagnon has been an active participant in debates surrounding the constitutional status of Québec amid struggles for sovereignty and negotiations to reform Canada's federal system. He is a well established figure in the study of Québec and Canada and in the theorization of contested systems of national recognition.
