The Regional Government of La Libertad (Spanish : Gobierno Regional de La Libertad; GORE La Libertad) [1] is the regional government that represents the Department of La Libertad. It is the body with legal identity in public law and its own assets, which is in charge of the administration of provinces of the department in Peru. Its purpose is the social, cultural and economic development of its constituency. It is based in the city of Trujillo.

It is the ninth smallest department in Peru, but it is also its second-most populous department after Piura and its second-most densely populated department after Lambayeque.

Alejandro Arturo Rebaza Martell is a Peruvian politician. In the 2006 general election, he was elected as a Congressman representing Cajamarca for the period 2006–2011, and belongs to the Peruvian Aprista Party. In the 2011 elections, he failed to attain reelection. Before he became Congressman, he was previously, Regional Vice President of Cajamarca from 2003 until he was elected Congressman in 2006. During his time in Congress, he participated in the formulation of 318 bills of which 87 were approved as laws.

The university was founded by Simón Bolívar and José Faustino Sánchez Carrión, who met in Huamachuco; they signed the decree of foundation on May 10, 1824, before Peru's independence from Spain. National University of Trujillo, was the first republican university founded in Peru.

The Trujillo Spring Festival is a festival and cultural event that takes place in the Peruvian city of Trujillo, between the end of September and beginning of October each year. This spring festival is considered one of the most representative of Trujillo city and honors its nickname of City of the everlasting spring. This festival is also one of the largest in the country and attracts the attendance of thousands of tourists from around the planet. The main attraction of this festival is a traditional Corsican or spring parade, involving mainly beauty queens of Lions clubs across the continent; in the parade there's a competition in the decoration about spring allegory and to be honored with the award called the gold lion. It is organized by the Lions Club of Trujillo.

SEDALIB S.A. is a public law firm for water supply and sanitation in the Peruvian city of Trujillo. This company has as main function to provide potable water and sewerage services to Trujillo and other cities in La Libertad Region.

Chavimochic Special Project is an irrigation system that extends throughout much of the coast of the La Libertad Region, on the north coast of Peru. It was started in the 1960s by the National Development Institute (INADE), a Peruvian central government dependence. In 2003, was made the transfer of the administration to Regional Government of La Libertad.

The Intendancy of Trujillo, also known informally as Trujillo Province, was one of the territorial divisions of the Viceroyalty of Peru. This territory was ruled from the city of Trujillo, located in La Libertad Region. It was created in 1784 and lasted until 12 February 1821 when General Jose de San Martin created the Department of Trujillo through the Reglamento Provisional to replace it in the new Republic of Peru.

Óscar Enrique Felipe Ventura was a Peruvian politician. He was a Member of Parliament from 1985 to 1990. As of 2013 he was the spokesman of the Regional Committee "César Vallejo" of the Communist Party of Peru in La Libertad, organizing secretary of the Regional Front for Defense and Development of La Libertad (FREDELL), as well as a leader the Social Affirmation Movement (MAS) in La Libertad.

Jorge Bernardo Torres Vallejo was a Peruvian politician. Torres Vallejo was a member of APRA until 1988. He was elected Departmental General Secretary of APRA in La Libertad six times. At one point he served as national subsecretary of the party.

Roberto Angulo Álvarez is a Peruvian politician. In 2011, he was elected as a congressman for La Libertad for the period 2011-2016 by the Peruvian Nationalist Party.
