The Residentie Royal Ascot is one of two ziggurat style apartment buildings in Ostend (The other Ernest Feysplein) and located at Koningin Astridlaan behind the Hippodrome Wellington and is one of the most distinctive buildings on the city skyline. [1]
The Residentie Royal Ascot was designed by architect Georges Boutelier, who previously designed apartment buildings in the 1950s on the Albert I Promenade. [2] Construction took place between 1978 to 1979/80 by the M&M Ilegems NV.[ citation needed ]
It is currently the home of Ostend Studio [3] with nearby facilities such as the Kinepolis Oostende and the Renbaan stop.
