Thuringowa is an electorate in the Legislative Assembly of the state of Queensland, Australia.
The City of Townsville is a local government area (LGA) located in North Queensland, Australia. It encompasses the city of Townsville, together with the surrounding rural areas, to the south are the communities of Alligator Creek, Woodstock and Reid River, and to the north are Northern Beaches and Paluma, and also included is Magnetic Island. In June 2018 the area had a population of 194,072, and is the 28th-largest LGA in Australia. Townsville is considered to be the unofficial capital of North Queensland.
Central Ward is a Brisbane City Council ward covering the CBD, Fortitude Valley, New Farm, Spring Hill, Herston, Bowen Hills, Newstead and Teneriffe. The current councillor is Vicki Howard of the Liberal National Party, who gained the ward from Labor at the 2012 election.
Chandler Ward is a Brisbane City Council ward covering Chandler, Burbank, Carindale, Gumdale, Mackenzie, Mansfield, Ransome, Rochedale, and parts of Belmont and Wakerley.
Calamvale Ward is a Brisbane City Council ward covering Calamvale, Algester, Drewvale, Heathwood, Parkinson, Stretton, Larapinta, Karawatha, and part of Forest Lake. The ward is curently represented by Emily Kim of the Labor Party..
