Riberas is one of five parishes (administrative divisions) in Soto del Barco, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. The journalist and ambassador Luis Amado-Blanco Fernandez was born here in 1903.

Situated at 212 m (696 ft) above sea level, it is 11.48 km2 (4.43 sq mi) in size, with a population of 385 (INE 2011). The postal code is 33127.

Mercado de la Ribera

The Mercado de la Ribera is a market square in Bilbao, the capital of the Basque Province of Viscay in the north of Spain. It is on the right bank of the Nervion River, next to Casco Viejo. Its built area of 10,000 square metres (110,000 sq ft) makes it the biggest covered market in Europe. Inside it, there are stalls that sell different products, mostly fresh produce. There are fish markets, butchers and green grocers. There is also a part of the market for the local farmers' products.

The Battle of Taenum was fought in 90 BC during the Social War. In the battle, Roman forces under the command of Lucius Julius Caesar were defeated by Italian rebel forces commanded by Marius Egnatius.
