Richard Paul Smith (born 30 August 1972) is an Irish cricket umpire. His ODI umpiring debut was on 5 July 2012, in a match between Ireland and Afghanistan. He has stood in six ODI games between 2012 and 2014 and in six Twenty20 Internationals in 2012. [1] He stepped down from the ICC Associate and Affiliate Panel of International Umpires in 2014. [2]
Smith also officiated in the 2012 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
The International Cricket Council, a.k.a.ICC, is the global governing body of cricket. Simon James Arthur Taufel is an Australian former cricket umpire who was earlier a member of the ICC Elite umpire panel. He won five consecutive ICC Umpire of the Year awards between 2004 and 2008, and is widely regarded as one of the top 10 greatest umpires of all time. He announced his retirement from international cricket on 26 September 2012, after the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 final. He subsequently worked as the ICC's Umpire Performance and Training Manager until October 2015. In 2020 he joined the Channel Seven commentary team as an expert commentator for the 2020/21 test series.
Aleem Dar PP is a Pakistani cricket umpire and former first-class cricketer. He has been a member of the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires. Dar won the David Shepherd Trophy three years in a row from 2009 to 2011, after being nominated twice in 2005 and 2006. Aleem Dar, Marais Erasmus, Richard Kettleborough, Kumar Dharmasena and Simon Taufel were the only umpires to have received the award from its inception until 2017. Before becoming an umpire, Dar played first-class cricket as a right-handed batsman and a leg-break bowler for Allied Bank, Gujranwala, Lahore and Pakistan Railways teams. Dar is also a member of the Men's National Selection Committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Christopher Blair Gaffaney is a former New Zealand cricketer who played for Otago. He became an umpire after retiring as a player. A right-handed batsman, he played in 83 first-class and 113 List A matches. Gaffaney is currently a member of the ICC Elite umpire panel and officiates in Tests, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals.
Nigel James Llong is an English cricket umpire and former first-class cricketer. Until June 2020, he was a member of the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and officiated in international matches - Tests, ODIs and T20Is. Earlier, he had played English domestic cricket during the 1990s with Kent County Cricket Club.
Bruce Nicholas James Oxenford is an Australian former cricket umpire and a former cricketer. He has been an ICC international umpire since 2008, when he first umpired an ODI match. He went on to stand in his first Test match in 2010. On 26 September 2012, he was promoted to the ICC Elite Umpire Panel, the highest umpiring body in the game of cricket, replacing fellow Australian Simon Taufel, who retired from the panel to take up a newly created ICC supervisory and training position.
Marais Erasmus is a South African former first-class cricketer who is currently serving as an international cricket umpire. He was a member of the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and stands in matches in all three formats of international cricket – Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
Nitin Narendra Menon is an Indian former cricketer and umpire. He was a right-handed batsman, representing Madhya Pradesh in List A cricket. He is now an umpire and has stood in matches in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy and the Sheffield Shield in Australia. In June 2020, he was promoted to the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires, replacing Nigel Llong. His father Narendra Menon was also a cricketer and umpire.
Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat, also known as Sharfuddoula Saikat, is an international cricket umpire and a former first-class player from Bangladesh. He is the first Bangladeshi umpire to be included in the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires in March 2024. He also officiated in 100 matches in men's international cricket including ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2023.
Shaun George was a South African former cricketer who later became an international umpire. He was part of Cricket South Africa's umpire panel for first-class matches.
Sundaram Ravi is an Indian cricket umpire who was a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires between 2015 and 2019. After making his Twenty20 International (T20I) umpiring debut in 2011, he officiated in over 100 international matches at Test, One Day International (ODI) and T20I level.

Sameer Bandekar is an Indian cricket umpire who currently represents the United States. The first international match that Bandekar officiated in was a women's One Day International (ODI) in 1997. He stood in his first men's ODI match in 2002. He later emigrated to the United States, and was elected to the ICC Associates and Affiliates Umpire Panel in 2015. He stood in matches in the 2015 ICC Americas Twenty20 Division One tournament. He umpired in his first men's Twenty20 International (T20I) on 22 December 2021, between United States and Ireland.
Mark Hawthorne is a Northern Irish cricket umpire. He stood in his first One Day International (ODI), between Ireland and Pakistan, on 28 May 2011. His Twenty20 International (T20I) umpiring debut was in a fixture between the Netherlands and Canada in the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, on 13 March 2012.
Roland Black is a Northern Irish cricket umpire. He has been an umpire since 2006. His name was added to ICC Associate and Affiliate Umpires Panel in 2016.
Alan James Neill is a Northern Irish cricket umpire. Neill serves as a member of the ICC Associate and Affiliate Panel of Umpires representing Ireland.
Pim van Liemt is a Dutch cricket umpire and former cricketer, who serves as a member of the ICC Associate and Affiliate International Umpires Panel. He was shortlisted as the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond Umpire of the Year in 2014, and won the award in 2015. He umpired in the 2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Five, and the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier.
Ahmed Shah Pakteen is a cricket umpire from Afghanistan. He is currently a member of International Panel of ICC Umpires. Pakteen has stood in matches in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup.
Paul Reynolds was an English cricket umpire representing Ireland. In November 2016, he was named the Official of the Year at the Cricket Ireland Awards. In June 2018, he was appointed to the International Panel of Umpires and Referees.
David McLean is a Scottish advocate and cricket umpire. He is a member of the Development Panel of ICC Umpires. McLean played as a wicket-keeper in local domestic cricket in Scotland, becoming an umpire in 2014. He stood in his first One Day International (ODI) match, between Scotland and Sri Lanka, on 21 May 2019. He stood in his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match, between Scotland and the Netherlands, on 16 September 2019.
