Hughes graduated from Walnut Hills High School, in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1991, and afterwards, he attended Thomas More College. He was a four-year standout while at TMC, during the 1992–1996 seasons. He is the only player in the now defunct conference (AMC), to have been the Rookie of the Year, a four-time Player of the Year, a four-time Conference First Team Selection, a three-time Tournament MVP, a four-time Tournament First Team selection, and a four-time scoring leader. Hughes was also a Division 3 All-American during his junior and senior seasons. He left Thomas More as the school's all-time scoring leader with 2,605 points, and currently holds ten additional records. In 2002, Hughes was selected to Thomas More College's Hall of Fame.[citation needed]
Professional career
Not drafted as a senior, Hughes was forced to go the free agent route, earning a spot with the Phoenix Suns, for the Summer Pro League in Los Angeles. Eventually, he went to Cyprus to play, and excelled in his first professional season. He averaged over 26 points and 13 rebounds per game, and once again garnered interest from the NBA, this time from the Atlanta Hawks. With the NBA lockout looming, Hughes went back overseas; this time to Lebanon. During the 1998–1999 season, Hughes averaged over 36 points and 15 rebounds per game.[citation needed]
After a stint with the Dallas Mavericks, he went back to Europe, in January 2000, and began the next step in his pro career. Having played in Cyprus, Lebanon, Italy, Spain, and France, Hughes won multiple titles, promotions to higher divisions, and MVP awards, along with numerous scoring titles, showing his ability to adapt and compete at an advanced age.

The 6-foot-9-inch (2.06 m) small forward graduated from Dominguez High School before playing college basketball for the University of Kentucky. He was drafted 23rd overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2002 NBA draft and went on to win a championship with the team in 2004.
Robert Lee Pettit Jr. is an American former professional basketball player. He played 11 seasons in the NBA, all with the Milwaukee/St. Louis Hawks (1954–1965). In 1956, he became the first recipient of the NBA's Most Valuable Player Award and he won the award again in 1959. He also won the NBA All-Star Game MVP award four times. As of the end of 2023-2024 regular season, Pettit is still the only regular season MVP in the history of the Hawks. Pettit is the leader for most career rebounds (12,849), and most rebounds per game with 16.2 in Hawks franchise history.
Ronald Fred Seikaly is a Lebanese-American former professional basketball player. He was one of the first internationally born players to make an impact on American basketball. Considered one of the top college players from the Syracuse basketball program, Seikaly's stellar offense and defense placed him among the school's all-time leaders in rebounds, points and blocks, while earning several nationally recognized awards and honors. Drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) by the Miami Heat with the 9th pick of the 1988 draft and the first-ever pick for the Heat, Seikaly developed into one of the best centers in the NBA and the team's top offensive and defensive contributors—winning NBA player of the week twice—and also amassing many of the team's records . His career highs with the Heat are 40 points, 34 rebounds, 8 blocks, 8 assists, and 5 steals. Seikaly earned the 1990 NBA Most Improved Player Award and later played for the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic and New Jersey Nets and in Spain with FC Barcelona. He was also part of the United States national basketball team during the 1986 FIBA World Championship, winning gold. After his retirement from basketball, Seikaly became a successful real estate developer. He also works in electronic music as a producer/DJ, and hosted his radio show, Sugar Free Radio, on Sirius/XM.

After playing high school basketball in his native state of Louisiana, Reed played college basketball at Tulane, being named the Metro Conference Freshman of the Year and gaining all-conference selections in each of his 4 seasons. He ended his career at Tulane as the all-time leading scorer with 1,896 total points and as the 4th best rebounder in program history with 871 total rebounds. Reed was selected in the second round of the 1993 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls but was waived before the start of the NBA season, and he moved to Europe where he played in Croatia, Italy, Spain, Slovenia and Cyprus. He also played in Venezuela and ended his career in 1999 after one season in Japan. In 2015 he was inducted in the Louisiana Basketball Hall of Fame.

A 6-foot-7, 290-pound center/power forward, he played high school basketball at Dixie Hollins High School in his native St. Petersburg, Florida and played four years of college basketball for the Florida Gators. During his college career he reached the Final Four as a sophomore during the 1994 NCAA tournament and was an All-SEC selection as a senior in 1996. After going undrafted in the 1996 NBA draft he started his professional career in Israel, and in his first season he led the league in scoring with 22.8 points per game. He went on to play in France, China, Latvia, Cyprus, Portugal and Slovakia.

A five-star prospect in high school, Mitchell had a successful career at Denham Springs High School, being named first-team All-State for four years and he was a first-team Parade All-American and McDonald's All-American after his senior season in 2005. He committed to play for LSU and he stayed with the Tigers for a total of five years, having missed one season due to injury, and reached the NCAA tournament Final Four in 2006. He ended his career at LSU in 2010 as the third-best scorer of all time with 1,989 total points. After going undrafted in the 2010 NBA draft, Mitchell played professional basketball in France, Israel and Russia.
Brandon Prescott Mouton is an American former college basketball player. After playing high school basketball at St. Thomas More Catholic in Lafayette, Louisiana, Mouton signed to play for the Texas Longhorns, being a part of the team that reached the 2003 NCAA Tournament Final Four. In August 2003 he participated in the XIV Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic with the United States men's national basketball team, starting all 5 games. After his senior year in college, during which he earned first-team all-conference honors, he went undrafted in the 2004 NBA draft and after playing in the 2004 NBA Summer League with the Los Angeles Clippers he did not pursue a professional career in basketball.
