Ridgemont High School is a public high school in Mt. Victory, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Ridgemont Local Schools district. Their nickname is the Golden Gophers, a distinction they share with only two other high schools in The United States, Hueytown High School in Hueytown, Alabama and Pavilion High School in Pavilion, New York.

The Ohio Hi-Point Career Center is a career–technical school that provides career–technical training to high school students and adults in west-central Ohio. Founded in 1974, Ohio Hi-Point (OHP) Career Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio, is a two-year career-technical school district serving 11th and 12th grade students in 14 partner school districts covering five counties, which comprises the career-technical planning district (CTPD). Students may also opt to remain at their partner school and specialize in one of Ohio High-Point’s fifty-two satellite programs. The Jefferson County School System is the second-largest public school system in Alabama, United States. It is the third oldest school system in Jefferson County preceded only by the Birmingham and Bessemer School Systems. The Jefferson County School System was created in 1896, and initially served all unincorporated communities and cities in the county other than Birmingham and Bessemer. Beginning in the late 1960s and early 1970s various other cities began to establish their own separate systems. Today the County system serves students in those unincorporated areas of Jefferson County, Alabama such as Alliance, Bagley, Concord, Corner, Forestdale, McCalla, Minor, Mt. Olive, and Oak Grove. Dolomite is an unincorporated community in Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. Today much of the community's residential neighborhoods lie within the corporate limits of the City of Birmingham and much of its business district lie within the corporate limits of the City of Hueytown.

Hueytown High School is a four-year public high school in the Birmingham, Alabama suburb of Hueytown. It is one of fourteen high schools in the Jefferson County School System. Hueytown competes in AHSAA Class 6A athletics. According to the website "Niche.com" Hueytown High was ranked #48 among the "Top fifty Alabama High Schools for Athletes" in 2020, one of only two Jefferson County School System schools to be so recognized among the state's more than 347 high schools.

Joseph Edwin Johnson was an American academic. He served as the president of University of Tennessee system from 1991 to 1999. He was an alumnus of Birmingham–Southern College and the University of Tennessee. He was also a 1951 graduate of Hueytown High School in Hueytown, Alabama, where his fellow high school seniors accurately voted him "most likely to succeed." Johnson died on September 29, 2023, at the age of 90.

Melvin Lane Vines was an American football player and coach. He was a high school football head coach for 28 seasons in the state of Alabama during the years from 1930 to 1941 and 1944, 1946 and 1948-1961 where he compiled a record of 135–101–21. Vines also served as the head football coach at the University of Tampa in 1942. As a college football player, he was a member of two national championship teams at the University of Alabama where he played on the first Southern teams to compete in The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
