Rila Fukushima (福島 リラ, Fukushima Rira) is a Japanese fashion-model and actress best known for her comic book roles in film and TV and has appeared in projects such as the superhero film The Wolverine (2013) as Yukio, the TV series Arrow as Tatsu Yamashiro, and Ghost in the Shell (2017) as the Red-robed Geisha.

Life and career

Rila Fukushima was born in Tokyo, Japan. [1]

Originally attempting to secure a position as a model agent at a Tokyo agency, she was persuaded to try modeling instead. [2] Her career has included work for numerous labels and brands in various shows and campaigns. [3]

Fukushima also starred in the 2013 superhero film The Wolverine as Yukio, [4] and appeared in the 2014 Taiga drama Gunshi Kanbei as Omichi. [5]

Fukushima replaced Devon Aoki in the role of Tatsu Yamashiro for the third season of The CW television show Arrow . [6] In 2015, she appeared in the HBO series Game of Thrones in a season 5 episode as a Red Priestess in Volantis. [7] [8] She starred in Million Yen Women as Minami Shirakawa on Netflix.[ citation needed ]

She was chosen as one of the women of 2013 by Vogue Japan . [9]

The Wolverine is a 2013 superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Wolverine. It is the sixth installment in the X-Men film series, the second installment in the trilogy of Wolverine films after X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), and a spin-off/sequel to X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). Fukushima 50 is a pseudonym given by English-language media to a group of employees at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Following the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami on 11 March 2011, a related series of nuclear accidents resulted in melting of the cores of three reactors. These 50 employees remained on-site after 750 other workers were evacuated.

A potent magnitude 6.6 Mw intraplate aftershock occurred at 17:16 JST (08:16 UTC) on 11 April, in the Hamadōri region of Fukushima, Japan. With a shallow focus of 13 km (8.1 mi), the earthquake was centred inland about 36 km (22 mi) west of Iwaki, causing widespread strong to locally severe shaking. It was one of many aftershocks to follow the 11 March Tōhoku earthquake, and the strongest to have its epicentre located inland.

"Welcome to Hong Kong" is the second episode of the eighth season of the American television series Arrow, based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, revolving around billionaire playboy Oliver Queen as he returns to Starling City, after having been shipwrecked for five years, and becomes a bow-wielding, hooded vigilante who sets out to fight crime and corruption. Hideko Fukushima, born Aiko Fukushima, was a Japanese avant-garde painter born in the Nogizaka neighborhood of Tokyo. She was known as both a founding member of the Tokyo-based postwar avant-garde artist collective Jikken Kōbō and was recruited into Art Informel circles by the critic Michel Tapié during his 1957 trip to Japan. As a member of Jikken Kōbō she participated in art exhibitions, designed visuals for slide shows and costumes and set pieces for dances, theatrical performances, and recitals. She contributed to the postwar push that challenged both the boundaries between media and the nature of artistic collaboration, culminating in the intermedia experiments of Expo '70.
