Rio Andres Gomez (born October 20,1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent.
Gomez graduated from Desert Vista High School in Phoenix,Arizona. He was cut from the varsity baseball team in his senior year. Gomez attended Mesa Community College and walked on to the school's college baseball team. He then transferred to the University of Arizona and played for the Arizona Wildcats baseball team as a walk-on. [1]
The Boston Red Sox selected him in the 36th round of the 2017 MLB draft. [2] In 2018,he pitched for the Lowell Spinners. [3]
Gomez began the 2023 season with the Portland Sea Dogs,and was promoted to the Worcester Red Sox in June. [4] He became a free agent after the season. [5]
