Robert Agarobe is a Papua New Guinea businessman and politician. He was the Governor of Central Province [1] [2] and a Member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea,but was unseated by Rufina Peter in the 2022 Papua New Guinean general election. [3]
Agarobe was born at Sopas Hospital in Enga Province. He attended Gabagaba Primary School and Kwikila High Secondary. He obtained a certificate in Trade and Aircraft Maintenance from Port Moresby Technical College. He then became an apprentice with Aircair Ltd in 1984. [4] He became a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Through his career,he worked for Islands Nationair,Heli Niugini,Helitech,PNGDF Air Transport Wing,RPNGC Police Air Wing,Helicopter Resources Australia,and Berjaya Air. In September 1998,he founded his own company,Helifix Aviation. [4]
He was first elected to the National Parliament at the 2017 general election,running as an independent candidate. Following his election,he joined the Pangu Party. He then became the Chairman of the Economic Policy Committee. [5] On 24 May 2019,he moved from the Government to the Opposition. [6]
Agarobe has described his vision to move provincial government offices from the National Capital District,which is surrounded by Central Province,into towns such as Kwikila,Kupiano,Bereina and Tapini. [7] This has brought Agarobe in conflict with representatives of National Capital District,particularly Motu Koita Assembly Chairman and Deputy Governor of NCD,Dadi Toka Jr,who has been openly critical of Agarobe's claims to Motu Koitabu tribal lands. Central Province is a province in Papua New Guinea located on the southern coast of the country. It has a population of 237,016 people and is 29,998 square kilometres (11,582 sq mi) in size. The seat of government of Central Province,which is located within the National Capital District outside the province,is the Port Moresby suburb of Konedobu. On 9 October 2007,the Central Province government announced plans to build a new provincial capital city at Bautama,which lies within Central Province near Port Moresby,although there has been little progress in constructing it.
James Marape is a Papua New Guinean politician,who is serving as the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea since May 2019. He has been a member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea since July 2007,representing the electorate of Tari-Pori Open in Hela Province in the highlands. He has held Cabinet Posts as Minister of Education (2008–2011) and Minister of Finance (2012–2019). Marape entered the 2022 elections under the banner of Pangu Party and won more seats than any other party. He was therefore entitled to form the government. His new government was elected unopposed by the new parliament.

Bryan Jared Kramer is a Papua New Guinea politician and Member of the 10th and 11th Parliament of Papua New Guinea. He is also a businessman and social media strategist known for his Facebook page,The Kramer Report. Formerly a member of the Pangu Party,he founded the Allegiance Party,of which he is the sole MP,in 2018. He ran nine candidates in the 2022 National Elections,including one in each of Madang's seven electorates. Kramer was returned with a sizeable majority,but was unsuccessful in securing the election of another Party member. He was suspended from office on 30 September 2022 pending the outcomes of a leadership tribunal.
Dadi Toka Jr is a Papua New Guinean businessman and the Chairman of the Motu Koita Assembly,a traditional landowner representative group established as an Assembly by an act of the Parliament of Papua New Guinea. The Chairman of the Motu Koita Assembly is also Deputy Governor of National Capital District,which was established on the lands of the Motu and Koitabu people.
