Westwood is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Westwood is part of the New York metropolitan area. Many of its residents regularly commute to New York City for work and leisure, many using public transportation. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 11,282, an increase of 374 (+3.4%) from the 2010 census count of 10,908, which in turn reflected a decline of 91 (−0.8%) from the 10,999 counted in the 2000 census.
Washington Township is a township in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 9,285, an increase of 183 (+2.0%) of the 2010 census count of 9,102, reflecting an increase of 164 (+1.8%) from the 8,938 counted in the 2000 census.
New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is a public research university in Newark, New Jersey with a graduate-degree-granting satellite campus in Jersey City. Founded in 1881 with the support of local industrialists and inventors especially Edward Weston, NJIT opened as Newark Technical School (NTS) in 1885 with 88 students. The school grew into a classic engineering college – Newark College of Engineering (NCE) – and then with the addition of a School of Architecture in 1973, into a polytechnic university that now hosts five colleges and one school. As of fall 2021 the university enrolls about 11,900 students from 83 countries, 2,500 of whom live on its main campus in Newark's University Heights district.
MaestroGiorgio Santelli was a fencer and fencing master who was part of the Italian team that won the gold medal in Men's team sabre at the 1920 Summer Olympics and was the largest mid-20th century influence in raising the quality and popularity of fencing in the United States, and creator of one of the best-known fencing equipment manufacturers.
Daniel Kellner is an American Olympic foil fencer. He has won gold and silver medals at the Pan American Games, and a gold medal at the Maccabiah Games.

As of the summer of 2016, she was ranked as one of the top 10 saber fencers in the world.
Timothy Frank Morehouse is an American fencer who won a Silver Medal competing in the men's sabre as a member of the United States fencing team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Morehouse is coached by Yury Gelman. He is the founder of the Fencing in the Schools program.
Russell Charles "Chick" Dermond was an American sprint canoer who competed in the late 1950s and early 1960s. His early years were spent in the American Canoe Association as a flatwater racer and began in the wooden "peanut," which was the predecessor of modern kayaks and C boats. A many-time national champion, he competed in the 1956 and 1960 Olympics. At the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, he was eliminated in the heats of the K-2 1000 m event. Four years later in Rome, he was eliminated in the repechages of the K-1 4 × 500 m event. He attended as Team Manager in 1972 and later served on the U.S. Olympic Committee. He was very active in the ACA, serving in a number of governing positions including Sugar Island in the Thousand Islands and Lake Sebago in Harriman State Park.
Warren Dow was an American fencer. He competed in the team foil event at the 1936 Summer Olympics.
Patrick Duffy was an Irish fencer. He competed at the 1948 and 1952 Summer Olympics. He was a fencing master.
Bennet Nathaniel Lubell was an American three-time Olympian fencer.

The Columbia Lions fencing team is the intercollegiate fencing team for Columbia University located in Manhattan, New York City. The team competes in the Ivy League within Division I of the NCAA. The university first fielded a team in 1898, under the leadership of coach James Murray. The team is currently coached by Michael Aufrichtig.
