After leaving school, Robert Hambling worked at the editing house Roger Cherrills in Soho, London. Gaining his union card after a couple of years, he moved into music, working at DJM Music, Island Records, and The Rolling Stones Mobile. He then worked for Electric Wood/Wal Bass Guitars, before returning to film.
Hambling worked as an assistant editor on numerous feature films, including Pink Floyd's The Wall (1982), Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984), King David (1985), Steaming (1985), Link (1986), and Aliens (1986).
Hambling later worked in the popular music industry, creating music videos, concert films, and documentaries for artists including Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, Jimmy Barnes, Divinyls, Silverchair, Missy Higgins, Don Walker, Superjesus, Jim Moginie, Rob Hirst, Ian Moss, Tex Don and Charlie, Margot Smith, Ghostwriters, Merrill Bainbridge, Paul Mac, Tambalane, Spy v Spy, Dragon, Shanley Del, Chicks Who Love Guns, Universe, Mood Six, The Happening Thang, and others.
Hambling directed pieces for SBS television on Henry Rollins, Deborah Conway, and Primus. He also directed two short films: "Elvis" for Channel 4 television in the UK and "Truth" with the AFC.
He is particularly noted for his work with Silverchair and Cold Chisel. Silverchair credits Hambling for helping the band in its early days by selecting their song Tomorrow in a demo competition, where Hambling was a judge.
In 2023 he made the music video for Elly-May Barnes' first solo single, a cover of the Radiohead song "Creep". [1]
Hambling's photography has appeared in various albums and publications. During the early 1970s, he developed an imaginary soft cheese with a taste similar to moose cheese.

Daniel Paul Johns is an Australian musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the frontman, guitarist, and main songwriter of the rock band Silverchair. Johns is also one half of The Dissociatives with Paul Mac and one half of Dreams with Luke Steele. On March 13, 2015 Johns released his first solo EP Aerial Love and on March 22, 2015, he released his first solo LP Talk in 2015. Johns' second solo album FutureNever was released on 22 April 2022.
Silverchair was an Australian rock band, which formed in 1992 as Innocent Criminals in Newcastle, New South Wales, with Daniel Johns on vocals and guitars, Ben Gillies on drums, and Chris Joannou on bass guitar. The group got their big break in mid-1994 when they won a national demo competition conducted by SBS TV show Nomad and ABC radio station Triple J. The band was signed by Murmur and were successful in Australia and internationally. Silverchair has sold over 10 million albums worldwide.
Neon Ballroom is the third studio album by Australian alternative rock band Silverchair, released in March 1999 by record labels Murmur and Epic. The songs "Anthem for the Year 2000", "Ana's Song " and "Miss You Love" were released as singles and a short film was released for the song "Emotion Sickness". Neon Ballroom debuted at No. 1 on the Australian albums chart and peaked at No. 50 on the US Billboard 200 chart. It was also their most successful album on the UK Albums Chart, where it peaked at No. 29. The album was nominated for 10 ARIA Awards and was certified Triple Platinum by the ARIA for selling over 210,000 copies in Australia. The album has been described as "heavy rock with orchestral flourishes and synthetic touches with powerfully emotional lyrics" that reflects the personal demons of frontman Daniel Johns due to the band's rapid international success.
Benjamin David Gillies is an Australian musician, best known as the drummer of Australian rock band Silverchair from 1992 until the band went on hiatus in 2011. In 2003, Gillies formed Tambalane with Wes Carr, initially as a songwriting project; they released a self-titled album in 2005 and toured Australia but subsequently folded. By June 2011, after Silverchair's disbandment, Gillies was in the final stages of about 12 months of working on his solo album, and he said that it was not a continuation of his earlier work with Tambalane. In 2012, he formed Bento, in which he performs lead vocals, and released the band's debut album Diamond Days.
Diorama is the fourth studio album by Australian alternative rock band Silverchair, released on 31 March 2002 by Atlantic/Eleven. It won the 2002 ARIA Music Award for Best Group and Best Rock Album. The album was co-produced by Daniel Johns and David Bottrill. While Bottrill had worked on albums for a variety of other bands, Diorama marked the first production credit for lead singer Johns.

Kevin Shirley, also known as The Caveman, is a South African music producer, engineer, audio mixer, and musician. He has produced music for many artists, including Silverchair, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, The Hoodoo Gurus, The Angels, and Cold Chisel. As of 2023 he is a musician in Jimmy Barnes' supergroup, releasing a self-titled album in 2023.
The Best Of: Volume 1 is the first compilation album by Australian alternative rock band Silverchair, which was issued on 13 November 2000. It includes every single they had released up until that point, with the exception of "Shade". The album peaked at No. 15 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
"Tomorrow" is a song by Australian rock band Silverchair, which was released on 16 September 1994 on their debut extended play, also titled Tomorrow. The song was re-recorded and included on Frogstomp, the band's debut studio album, released six months later on 27 March 1995. Written by singer and lead guitarist Daniel Johns and drummer Ben Gillies, it was produced and engineered by Phil McKellar at the national radio station Triple J's studios for SBS-TV's show Nomad, which aired on 16 June 1994. After the broadcast, Silverchair were signed to the Murmur record label – a Sony Music subsidiary – which subsequently issued the Tomorrow EP.

"Across the Night" was the fourth and final single released by rock band Silverchair from their fourth album, Diorama. It is the first track on Diorama, and is a major departure from their previous, grungy sound which was featured on Frogstomp, which was released in 1995. This more progressive type of songwriting is also present on Silverchair's final album, Young Modern. A video was created for the song in the style of early 1920s cinema, featuring acclaimed Australian actor Guy Pearce.

Last Stand is a documentary film of the final concert appearances by Australian rock band, Cold Chisel, prior to their first disbandment. It was filmed on 13 and 15 December 1983 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre and released to cinemas in July 1984. It featured the group performing two of the four final concerts of their national Last Stand Tour, from 12 to 15 December 1983. It is interspersed with short interviews from members of the band, their managers, audience members and Midnight Oil front man, Peter Garrett. A DVD version featuring extra footage was issued in October 2005.
The Across the Great Divide Tour was a live DVD and release by Australian rock bands Powderfinger and Silverchair. Released on 1 December 2007, it followed two Melbourne concerts during the bands' two-month-long nationwide tour, titled the Across the Great Divide tour. The DVD was produced by filming company PVC Live, who have produced DVD releases for U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Radiohead. It was mixed in the United States in 5.1 surround sound, and filmed with 24 cameras.
The 13th Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards was held on 12 October 1999 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Hosted by Paul McDermott and Bob Downe, and presenters, including Melanie C of the Spice Girls, Tina Cousins, Fiona Horne and Molly Meldrum, distributed 33 awards. "The Live Tapes Vol. 1" is a 2 disc live album by Australian rock band Cold Chisel. A deluxe edition also came with a bonus DVD. The album was recorded in Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on 18 April 2012 and released on 22 November 2013. The album was the first new live Cold Chisel release in over 10 years. The album peaked at number 27 in Australia.
The Live Tapes Vol. 4, or more fully The Live Tapes Vol 4: The Last Stand of the Sydney Entertainment Centre, December 17 & 18, 2015, is a live album by Australian rock band Cold Chisel. It was recorded at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on 17 and 18 December 2015, which ended the group's One Night Stand tour of Australia. The band dubbed these performances "The Last Stand" of the venue, prior to its demolition. Upon announcement of the two shows, over 20,000 tickets were sold in 10 minutes. The album was launched on the grass of Hobart's Wrest Point Hotel Casino on 22 November. The Live Tapes Vol. 4 was released in various formats on 10 November 2017 as the fourth of a five-part series of live recordings unearthed from Cold Chisel's own archives. It reached No. 9 on the ARIA Albums chart.
