Robert IV of Auvergne (died 1194) was count of Auvergne from 1182 until his death.
Robert was the first-born son of William VIII, the count of Auvergne, and Anne of Nevers. [1]
In 1182, William VIII died and Robert inherited the county of Auvergne [1]
In 1183 he repelled an assault by the Brabançons merecenaries, who were, apparently, being paid by Geoffrey II, Duke of Brittany. [1]
He died in 1194 and was interred in the abbey of Bouschet. [1]
He married Mahaut (Matilda) of Burgundy, daughter of Odo II, Duke of Burgundy and Marie of Blois, Duchess of Burgundy. [1] They had six children:
