Robert Romawia Royte is an Indian politician from Aizawl,Mizoram. He had been elected to the Mizoram Legislative Assembly 2018 from Aizawl East - II Constituency, [1] and from Hachek Constituency from the Mizoram Legislative Assembly 2023. He was the Minister of State in the MNF ministry and held the portfolios of Sports and Youth Services,Tourism and Information and Communication Technology. [2] [3]
Robert Romawia is the son of Than Thuama Royte and Lalbiakveli and was born on January 29,1967. He is married to Lalrampari Hnamte,a high school teacher and has 4 children. [4] [ failed verification ]
He has completed his M.A. and M.Phil in Political Science in NEHU,Shillong. [5]
He is currently the Minister of State for three departments:Sports and Youth Services,Tourism and Information and Communication Technology.[ citation needed ]
He is the founder of TT ROYTE Group,and was the proprietor and chief managing director of Northeast Consultancy Services in Aizawl before his career shifted to politics. He is also the owner of I-League champion club Aizawl FC. [6] [7] [8]
Mizoram is a state in northeastern India,with Aizawl as its seat of government and largest city. Vanlalzawma a politician from Mizoram who was a Member of the Mizoram in the 13th Lok Sabha and 14th Lok Sabha. Before he became a politician,he was the president of Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) in 1993 at the age of 37 and served two terms. During this period CYMA had wildlife conservation as its yearly goal and Vanlalzawma received an award for CYMA from the President of India,for successful wildlife conservation in Mizoram.
Laldenga was a Mizo separatist and politician from Mizoram in northeast India. He was the founder of the Mizo National Front,a social organisation turned political party. He was the first Chief Minister of Mizoram as a federated state,the office of which he held from 1986 to 1988.
Lalduhoma is an Indian politician who serves as the 6th Chief Minister of Mizoram since 8 December 2023. Formerly an Indian Police Service officer,he resigned from the security service to the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi,and was elected as Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha from Mizoram and President of the Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee in 1984. The Mizo National Front uprising was a revolt against the government of India aimed at establishing a sovereign nation state for the Mizo people,which started on 28 February 1966. On 1 March 1966,the Mizo National Front (MNF) made a declaration of independence,after launching coordinated attacks on the Government offices and security forces post in different parts of the Mizo district in Assam. The government retaliated and recaptured all the places seized by the MNF by 25 March 1966.

Laltluangliana Khiangte is a Mizo academic,playwright and poet of Mizo literature. He was the principal of the Serampore College and a former professor at Pachhunga University College and the North Eastern Hill University. He is presently serving as the senior most professor at the Department of Mizo at Mizoram University. K. Beichhua is an Indian politician and retired surgeon. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a former member of the Mizo National Front (MNF) and served as the member of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly for Saiha before resigning to join the BJP. He is former Minister of state in Government of Mizoram as Minister for Social Welfare,Excise &Narcotics &Sericulture department. He resigned as MLA and later joined the BJP after getting expelled from the MNF for anti-party activities.
The legislative assembly election was held on 28 November 2018 to elect members of the 40 constituencies in Mizoram. Mizo National Front won 26 seats in the election. This was the first time that Congress does not have any government in any of the states in Northeast India.
