Robert S. Travis Jr. (born August 24, 1947) is a former American politician.
Born in Cuba City, Wisconsin, Travis graduated from Platteville High School in Platteville, Wisconsin, and then went to University of Wisconsin–Platteville from 1965 to 1969. He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1976. Travis served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1977 to 1987 and was a Republican. His father was Robert S. Travis who also served in the Wisconsin Legislature. [1] [2]

University of Wisconsin–Platteville is a public university in Platteville, Wisconsin, United States. Part of the University of Wisconsin System, it offers bachelor's and master's degrees across three colleges and enrolls approximately 6,500 students as of 2022.
William Francis "Bo" Ryan Jr. is an American former college basketball coach. He was the head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team of the University of Wisconsin–Madison from 2001 to December 2015. Ryan served as the head men's basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville from 1984 to 1999 and at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee from 1999 to 2001. His overall collegiate coaching record was 747–233. Ryan was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.
Glenn Robert Davis was an American educator and lawyer who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives for Wisconsin. He represented Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district from April 22, 1947 to January 3, 1957, and Wisconsin's 9th congressional district from January 3, 1965 to December 31, 1974.

Paul Joseph Chryst is an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Pittsburgh from 2012 to 2014 and the University of Wisconsin—Madison from 2015 to 2022. Chryst had previously been the offensive coordinator at Wisconsin from 2005 through 2011. He also served in the same capacity at Oregon State University and was an assistant coach for the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). Chryst played college football at Wisconsin, where he lettered as a quarterback and tight end from 1986 to 1988.

Allen Ralph Bushnell was an American attorney, politician, and Democratic member of Congress from the U.S. state of Wisconsin. He was the first mayor of Lancaster, Wisconsin, and represented that area in the Wisconsin State Assembly in the 1872 session. He also served as a Union Army officer in the American Civil War with the famous Iron Brigade of the Army of the Potomac.
Ben C. Eastman was an American lawyer, Democratic politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He served two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district from 1851 to 1855. He previously served as secretary of the Council of the Wisconsin Territory during the 4th Wisconsin Territorial Assembly.

Chester Joseph Roberts was an American college football and college basketball coach in the early 1900s. He was a 1912 graduate of Lawrence College in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he played football. After graduation, he served as a member of the faculty at several colleges in the Midwest. During this time Roberts served as head football coach at Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia, in 1914, Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1915, and Platteville Normal College—now the University of Wisconsin–Platteville—in 1917, compiling a career college football head coaching record of 11–10. He was also the head basketball coach at Bethany (1914–1915) and Miami (1915–1916), tallying a career college basketball mark of 9–18.
Travis Tranel is an American politician, dairy farmer and businessman from Wisconsin. A member of the Republican Party, he has served as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from the 49th district since 2011.
Charles Edward Estabrook was an American educator, lawyer, eugenicist, and Republican politician from the U.S. state of Wisconsin. He was the 14th Attorney General of Wisconsin and served 14 years in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing first Manitowoc and later Milwaukee. As a young man, he was an enlisted volunteer in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Later, he founded the Wisconsin Historical Commission and published several volumes of history of the Civil War for the Wisconsin Historical Society.

John Hawkins Rountree was an American farmer, businessman, politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He was the founder of Platteville, Wisconsin, and was instrumental in the early development of that village. He was also one of the founders of the Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company, and remained a director in the company until his death. In politics, he represented Grant County for five years in the Wisconsin Legislature, and was a delegate to Wisconsin's 2nd constitutional convention in 1847.

Wisconsin's 49th Assembly district is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southwest Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Crawford County and most of Grant County. It includes the cities of Boscobel, Fennimore, Lancaster, Platteville, and Prairie du Chien, and the villages of Bagley, Bell Center, Bloomington, Cassville, De Soto, Dickeyville, Eastman, Ferryville, Gays Mills, Lynxville, Mount Hope, Mount Sterling, Patch Grove, Potosi, Soldiers Grove, Steuben, Tennyson, Wauzeka, and Woodman. The district also contains the University of Wisconsin–Platteville campus, Wyalusing State Park, and Nelson Dewey Memorial State Park, and historic landmarks such as the Potosi Brewery and the Grant County Courthouse. The district has been represented by Travis Tranel, a Republican, since January 2011.
