Robertas Kaunas (born 7 January 1985) is a Lithuanian politician of the Social Democratic Party who was elected member of the Seimas in the 2024 parliamentary election. [1] He previously served as a city councillor of Kaunas. [2]
Kaunas is the second-largest city in Lithuania after Vilnius,the fourth largest city in the Baltic States and an important centre of Lithuanian economic,academic,and cultural life. Kaunas was the largest city and the centre of a county in the Duchy of Trakai of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Trakai Palatinate since 1413. In the Russian Empire,it was the capital of the Kaunas Governorate from 1843 to 1915.

Kaunas Sports Hall,also known as the S. Darius and S. Girėnas Hall is the second largest arena of Kaunas,Lithuania. It is the first arena built in the residential Žaliakalnis neighbourhood of Kaunas specially for basketball in Europe and is referred to as a "Mecca of the Lithuanian basketball". The arena's seating capacity is 5,000. Initial seating capacity was 3,500 and the other spectators used to have standing room. Its length is 62.8 m (206 ft) and its width is 61 m (200 ft). It is a part of the S. Darius and S. Girėnas sport center,which also includes the nearby national stadium.
Kaunas Reservoir is the largest Lithuanian artificial lake,created in 1959 by damming the Nemunas River near Kaunas and Rumšiškės. It occupies 63.5 square kilometers,which is about 0.1% of the total territory of Lithuania. The reservoir supports the operations of the Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant. Its waters cover the Nemunas valley from the river's confluence with Strėva River to the dam,a distance of about 25 kilometers. At its widest,the reservoir is 3.3 kilometers across and its greatest depth is 22 meters.
Darius and Girėnas stadium is a multi-use stadium in Kaunas,Lithuania. With a seating capacity of 15,026,it is the largest stadium in Lithuania and the Baltic states. Located in the Ąžuolynas park in Žaliakalnis district,it serves as a venue for football matches,athletic competitions,and other events. In 1998,the stadium was renovated according to UEFA regulations,and in 2005,it was modernised with the installation of the biggest stadium television screen in the Baltic states. The latest renovation started in 2018 and ended in 2022. During the sporting season,at least 50 events are held here annually.
Kaunas Airport is the second-busiest civil airport in Lithuania after Vilnius Airport and the fourth-busiest in the Baltic states. The airport is located in the central part of the country,14 km (8.7 mi) northeast of the Kaunas city centre and 100 km west from the capital Vilnius.

PanemunėEldership is an eldership in Kaunas County,Lithuania,encompassing Kaunas neighbourhoods of Panemunė,Vaišvydava,Vičiūnai,and the village of Rokai. Located on the left bank of the Nemunas River,it was formally incorporated into Kaunas in 1931. It occupies 24.78 hectares with 22,140 inhabitants.
Kaunas Fortress is the remains of a fortress complex in Kaunas,Lithuania. It was constructed and renovated between 1882 and 1915 to protect the Russian Empire's western borders,and was designated a "first-class" fortress in 1887. During World War I,the complex was the largest defensive structure in the entire state,occupying 65 km2 (25 sq mi).
Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinics is the largest and the most advanced medical institution in Lithuania and Baltic States. The entire hospital complex is 160 thousand square meters over an area of 36 hectares. Within the 15 on-campus buildings,there are 35 departments with different clinical profiles and 15 departments for out patient care. As of 2009,more than 1,200 medical doctors and 2,500 nursing specialists are working at the hospital. Since 2016 the hospital has been governed by habilitated doctor Renaldas Jurkevičius. Kaunas Clinics performs more than 60,000 operations per annum. Since June 29,2015 it is the only hospital in Lithuania to have highest level Trauma and Emergency Center for both –adult and children. The Kaunas Clinics is capable of performing the most advanced surgeries,including heart transplants. Compared to other hospitals in Europe,Kaunas clinics is distinguished in the fields of vascular surgery,neurosurgery and otorhinolaryngology.
Žalgirio Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the New Town of Kaunas,Lithuania. The arena is located on an island of the Nemunas River and is the largest indoor arena in the Baltics. The arena's maximum possible seating capacity for basketball games is 15,415,and 22,500 spectators for concerts. The Žalgiris Arena replaced the Kaunas Sports Hall as a major venue in the city.
Kulautuva is a town in Kaunas district municipality,in Kaunas County,in central Lithuania. It is situated on the right bank of the Nemunas River. According to the 2011 census,the village has a population of 1,425 people. A number of Kaunas city politicians,artists and foreign diplomats have been resting here since long ago. Since long ago,people who came from neighboring countries have strengthened their health here. Kulautuva was famous not only for the first sanatorium and the most modern hotel in the Baltic States,but also for its pine forests,which are especially beneficial for health.
The Old Kaunas Ducal Palace is a building complex at the corner of Aleksoto and Muitinės Streets in Kaunas Old Town,Lithuania. It was a psychiatric hospital,but is now owned by the Kaunas Academy of Arts institute.
Futbolo klubas Kauno Žalgiris is a professional football club based in Kaunas,Lithuania,that competes in the A lyga,the top tier of Lithuania. The club was founded as FM Spyris Kaunas in 2004,became the football section of basketball club Žalgiris Kaunas and moved to their current stadium,the Darius and Girėnas Stadium,in 2015. After their debut season in the A Lyga,the club adopted the name FK Kauno Žalgiris in 2016.

Kaunas Maironis Academic Gymnasium,previously the Constituent Assembly Palace,is an historical building in Kaunas,Lithuania. The building was completed in 1862 and in 1863 the gymnasium was moved into it,but the building gained its greatest significance between 1920 and 1927 when the Constituent Assembly of Lithuania met there,as well as the interwar Seimas for its first three electoral periods. The Seimas was later moved to the newly built Palace of Justice and the Seimas.

The Kaunas Carillon is a carillon in the tower of the Vytautas the Great War Museum in Kaunas,Lithuania. The carillon officially belongs to the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania and Vytautas the Great War Museum. In the interwar period,it was the only carillon in Lithuania,however currently four other carillons are also in Klaipėda,Vilnius,Šakiai,and Gelgaudiškis Manor.
