Nadia Elena Comăneci Conner, known professionally as Nadia Comăneci, is a Romanian retired gymnast and a five-time Olympic gold medalist, all in individual events. In 1976, at the age of 14, Comăneci was the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10.0 at the Olympic Games. At the same Games she received six more perfect 10s for events en route to winning three gold medals. At the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow Comăneci won two more gold medals and achieved two more perfect 10s. During her career Comăneci won nine Olympic medals and four World Artistic Gymnastics Championship medals.
Yordan Yovchev Yovchev, also spelled Jordan Jovtchev, is a retired Bulgarian gymnast. He took part in six consecutive Olympic Games, more than any other Bulgarian athlete in Olympic history. He is president of the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation and also serves as a sports commentator.
Bart Wayne Conner is a retired American Olympic gymnast. As a member of the US men's gymnastics team at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games, Conner won two gold medals. He currently owns and operates the Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy in Norman, Oklahoma, along with his wife, Romanian Olympic gold medalist Nadia Comăneci. In addition, both Comăneci and Conner are highly involved with the Special Olympics.
Gilbert Larose was a gymnast who was named NCAA all-around champion for the University of Michigan in 1963 and competed for Canada in the 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics. Larose was the first University of Michigan gymnast to win the NCAA all-around title.
Justin Edward Spring is a retired American gymnast. He is a member of the bronze medal winning U.S. team at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. He was also a top gymnast in NCAA competition, where he represented the University of Illinois.
Newton C. Loken was an artistic gymnast and coach of gymnastics, trampolining and cheerleading. While a member of the Minnesota Golden Gophers men's gymnastics team, Loken was NCAA all-around gymnastics champion in 1942 and the Big Ten Conference all-around champion in 1941 and 1942. He was the coach of the University of Michigan gymnastics team for 36 years from 1948-1983. Loken's gymnasts won the NCAA championships in 1963 and 1970, as well as 12 Big Ten championships. His record as Michigan's gymnastics coach was 250-72-1. Loken also coached the Michigan trampolining team to NCAA championships in 1969 and 1970.
Ivan Ivankov is a retired Belarusian artistic gymnast. Ivankov; a very big name in the gymnastics world, which he earned throughout years of competition and hard work. The 1994 and 1997 all-around World Champion, and the 1994 and 1996 all-around European Champion, Ivankov has competed for over a decade on the international circuit. Despite his numerous achievements at the World Championships, Europeans and other events, Ivankov has suffered a string of misfortunes at the Olympics, and has never won an Olympic medal. He had to share a third place with another competitor, after which, the bronze Olympic medal wasn’t given to him.
The UCLA Bruins women's gymnastics team represents the University of California, Los Angeles and competes in the Pac-12 Conference. They currently compete in Pauley Pavilion, Los Angeles, CA. The team, coached by Chris Waller, has won 21 Regional titles and 7 NCAA National Championships, most recently in 2018.
Jonathan Alan Horton is a retired American artistic gymnast. He is the 2008 Olympic silver medalist on high bar, the 2010 World all-around bronze medalist, a two-time Olympian, a two-time U.S. National All-Around Champion, and a 17-time medalist at the U.S. National Championships. At the 2008 Olympics, he also won a bronze medal with his U.S. teammates in the team competition. He also competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he qualified for the high bar event final and finished in sixth place. In 2016, he had surgery on his left rotator cuff and as a result was unable to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Jacob "Jake" Dalton is a retired American gymnast who was a member of the University of Oklahoma gymnastics team and the United States men's national gymnastics team. He represented the United States at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Dalton grew up in Sparks, Nevada, and is the son of Tim and Denise Dalton.
Samuel Anthony Mikulak is an American former artistic gymnast. He is a six-time U.S. national all-around champion, the 2018 World bronze medalist on high bar, and a three-time Olympian. He is also an eight-time NCAA champion, winning the team, individual all-around and several individual event titles at the 2011, 2013 and 2014 NCAA Men's Gymnastics championships. Mikulak trains at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The Michigan Wolverines men's gymnastics team represents the University of Michigan and competes in the Big Ten Conference. The Wolverines have won seven NCAA championships, 18 Big Ten championships and have been invited to 31 NCAA tournaments. Since 1999, Michigan has finished in the Super Six at the NCAA tournament in 11 of 12 seasons. In 2013, Michigan won its fifth NCAA men's gymnastics team championship. The following year, Michigan repeated as National Champions for its sixth NCAA men's gymnastics team championship.
Paul Ziert is a former University of Oklahoma gymnastics coach. Ziert recruited Bart Conner to the school. In 1977 and 1978, Ziert's teams won the NCAA Men's Gymnastics championship.
Guard Wayne Young is a retired American gymnast. He is a three-time member of the U.S. gymnastics team at the World Championships, and contributed to a silver medal in the men's team competition in 2001. Three years later, at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Young helped his U.S. squad to earn a silver medal in the same program, a best finish since 1984. During his college career, Young has earned six All-American and two NCAA titles in the men's vault. In 2010, Young was inducted to the sports hall of fame by the Brigham Young University.
Alec Yoder is an American artistic gymnast. He represented the United States at the 2020 Olympic Games, competing as an individual athlete. He is the 2014 Youth Olympic all-around bronze medalist, the 2019 NCAA champion on pommel horse, and is a member of the United States men's national gymnastics team.
Cecile Canqueteau-Landi is a French gymnastics coach and former artistic gymnast. She competed at the 1996 Olympics and currently coaches at World Champions Centre in Spring, Texas. She coached from 2007 to 2017 at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy.
Laurent Landi is a French-American artistic gymnastics coach and retired gymnast. He was formerly a coach at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy until 2017, when he began working at the World Champions Centre as the Women's Team director as well as serving as the head coach to Simone Biles. Landi has previously coached world and Olympic champion Madison Kocian and world champion Alyssa Baumann.
Jennifer Ester Rowland is an American gymnastics coach and former gymnast. Since 2015, she has been the head coach of the Florida Gators gymnastics program, succeeding Rhonda Faehn in 2015. Previously, she was with the Auburn Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners women's gymnastics teams.
Anastasia Maria Webb is a former American artistic gymnast. She competed for the Oklahoma Sooners women's gymnastics team. In 2021, she became the NCAA All Around Champion and tied for the floor and vault titles, to go along with OU's team championship from 2019.
Stephen Nedoroscik is an American artistic gymnast who specializes on the pommel horse. He is the 2021 World Champion and a two-time NCAA National Champion on the event. He is a member of the United States men's national gymnastics team.
