The Roma to Brisbane Pipeline or Wallumbilla to Brisbane Pipeline is a natural gas pipeline in Queensland, Australia. It is one of five major natural gas pipelines in the state. It is the oldest operating natural gas pipeline in Australia. Operations began in March 1969. [1] An opening ceremony was attended by the premier, Joh Bjelke-Petersen. [2]
The pipeline was constructed by Thiess Pty Ltd. [2] Reserves discovered by 1964 justified the need for a pipeline to markets. [2]
The pipeline moves gas from the fields at Wallumbilla to markets in Brisbane and regional networks via a 438 kilometre long network. [3] Both conventional and coal seam gas are transported. [4]
Gas flow is bi-directional. [5] The Oakey Power Station was strategically built at Oakey on the pipeline to help ensure supply.
The pipeline is owned by APA Group and follows regulations set out by the Australian Energy Regulator. [5]

The Darling Downs is a farming region on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range in southern Queensland, Australia. Meandu Creek Dam is a dam built near Yarraman in Queensland, Australia. The Tarong and Tarong North Power Stations source water from the Brisbane River catchment via a pipeline from Wivenhoe Dam. Cooling tower blowdown water is either discharged directly to Tarong Energy's Meandu Creek Dam or supplied to the nearby Tarong Mine owned by Rio Tinto Coal Australia. Excess water from the mine is discharged back to Meandu Creek Dam. Releases from Meandu Creek Dam supply downstream irrigators on Meandu Creek. In 2019 Stanwell Corporation temporarily stopped discharges into the creek to allow downstream property owners to repair culverts.

Coopers Gap Wind Farm is a 453 megawatt wind farm in the Western Downs and South Burnett regions of Queensland, Australia. It is located approximately 175 km north-west of the state capital Brisbane, and 50 kilometres south-west of Kingaroy and 65 km north of Dalby. When construction was announced to be completed on 30 April 2020, it became the largest wind farm in Australia. This record was held until 10 December 2020 when the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm in Victoria was completed.

The Oakey Power Station is a 282 MW power station located at Oakey on the Darling Downs in southern Queensland, adjacent to the Roma to Brisbane Pipeline. The station is an open-cycle, dual liquid/gas-fired power station that typically operates during times of peak electricity demand when Queensland's power needs are greatest. ERM Power led the development of Oakey with commissioning occurring safely and on time in December 1999. ERM Power owns 100% of Oakey and also operates and financially manages the power station.

The South West Queensland Pipeline (SWQP) is a bidirectional natural gas transmission pipeline in southern Queensland. It was built in 1996 to carry gas 755 kilometres (469 mi) from the Ballera gas plant to the gas trading hub at Wallumbilla. The western end was later extended in 2008 by 182 kilometres (113 mi) to Moomba. The original section is also known as the Ballera to Wallumbilla Pipeline System, and the extension as the Queensland/South Australia/New South Wales (QSN) Link. In 2014 the combined system was reconfigured to be bidirectional.
