Roman Surman is an American musician and the current lead guitarist for Wednesday 13's horror punk solo band. Surman was also a guitarist for Gunfire 76, Bourbon Crow and the second incarnation of Murderdolls, all bands fronted by Wednesday 13. [1]
Surman's long-standing partnership with Wednesday 13 began with Surman becoming a guitar-tech for his solo band. He first performed as a touring guitarist in Bourbon Crow, an Outlaw country side project he had put together in 2006. Surman was assistant editor and music composer for a short video release by Wednesday 13 called "Weirdo A-Go-Go" in 2008. [2] In 2009 Wednesday 13 put together another side project, a glam metal band called Gunfire 76, releasing one album "Casualties and Tragedies" in October 2009. They toured the UK with "The First Blood Tour" in December of that year.
In 2010, Wednesday 13 and Joey Jordison reformed Murderdolls after an eight year hiatus, selecting a different line-up, including Surman as rhythm guitarist. He toured with the band until the second breakup in 2011. He recorded guitar tracks for their second studio album Women and Children Last. After the breakup, Wednesday 13 continued as a solo band with Surman as lead guitarist. He first appeared on 2011's Calling All Corpses and has been on every Wednesday 13 release and tour since [1] except for the Undead Unplugged album.
He was co-credited with Wednesday 13 on five tracks on 2015's Monsters of the Universe: Come Out and Plague and had a sole writing credit for "Planet Eater: Interstellar 187", the first time a Wednesday 13 song was credited entirely to someone other than Wednesday 13, not including covers and co-credits.

Screaming Trees were an American rock band formed in Ellensburg, Washington, in 1984 by vocalist Mark Lanegan, guitarist Gary Lee Conner, bassist Van Conner, and drummer Mark Pickerel. Pickerel was replaced by Barrett Martin in 1991. Screaming Trees became known as one of the pioneers of grunge along with Melvins, Mudhoney, U-Men, Skin Yard, Soundgarden, Green River, and Malfunkshun, among others. Although widely associated with grunge, the band's sound incorporated hard rock and psychedelic elements.
Horror punk is a music genre that mixes punk rock and 1950s-influenced doo-wop and rockabilly sounds with morbid and violent imagery and lyrics which are often influenced by horror films and science fiction B-movies. The genre was pioneered by the Misfits in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Subsequent bands formed in the Misfits' wake like Mourning Noise, the Undead and Samhain, solidifying horror punk's first wave. In the late 1990s and early 2000s the genre gained attention through the reunion of the Misfits and success of groups like AFI, Son of Sam and the Murderdolls. This popularity continued to the modern day with Blitzkid, Calabrese and Creeper.
Murderdolls was an American rock band formed in Hollywood, California in 2002. Its lineup consisted of core members Wednesday 13 and Joey Jordison while former touring members included Ben Graves, Acey Slade, Eric Griffin and Tripp Eisen.

John William Lowery, best known by the stage name John 5, is an American guitarist. His stage name was bestowed on him in 1998 when he left David Lee Roth's solo band and joined the rock band Marilyn Manson as their guitarist, taking over for Zim Zum. Still going by the name John 5, Lowery became the guitarist for Rob Zombie in addition to his continued collaborations with musical artists across many genres. In 2022, John 5 left Rob Zombie and became the touring lead guitarist for Mötley Crüe, being promoted to a full member the following year.
Songs from the Recently Deceased is the third full-length release by American punk band the Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13. It was originally released on Uncle God Damn Records in 1999, and was later re-released on Century Media Records in collaboration with People Like You Records in 2000 as a Digi-Pack. It is also featured in the 2006 box set "Little Box of Horrors".

Women and Children Last is the second and final studio album by American horror punk supergroup Murderdolls released through Roadrunner Records on August 31, 2010, and produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris. With the exception of Murderdolls touring guitarist Roman Surman, who contributed lead guitars, and Mötley Crüe's Mick Mars, who guests on "Drug Me to Hell" and "Blood Stained Valentine", the album was recorded by Wednesday 13 and Joey Jordison. In Metal Hammer, Jordison explained why the old lineup would not be returning:
The old band, we didn’t even know each other before it all came together [...] It was dysfunctional but it worked, but this time, we wanted it to be a little more stable. It was apparent that if we were going to do the Murderdolls again, we were going to do it with everything we’ve got.
Undead Unplugged is the first acoustic album by horror punk musician Wednesday 13. It features mainly acoustic versions of songs from his solo career, with one original track entitled "Undead". The album also features acoustic versions of Murderdolls and Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 songs, both being bands Wednesday had fronted in the past.
Monsters of the Universe: Come Out and Plague is the sixth studio album by horror punk musician Wednesday 13. The album was released on January 12, 2015 in the UK and January 13, 2015, in the US and is Wednesday's first concept album. It will be released on CD and limited edition Double Vinyl. The album features 5 tracks co-written by Wednesday 13 and Roman Surman along with 1 track written entirely by Surman which is a first for a Wednesday 13 album that another band member has written an entire track without a co-credit from Wednesday.
Dead Meat: 10 Years of Blood, Feathers & Lipstick is a box set and 2nd compilation album by horror punk musician Wednesday 13. It's a collection that spans his solo career from 2003-2013 and other projects he fronted such as Murderdolls and Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 It features 4 discs. A best of compilation, a collection of demos and the entire Re-Animated EP with extra remixes.
From Here to the Hearse is a 2010 limited edition vinyl compilation album released by American musician Wednesday 13. It features songs from his horror punk solo career and his various side projects such as his outlaw country project Bourbon Crow, his glam metal project Gunfire 76 and covers from his previous band Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13. It was a limited release only seeing 1,000 copies being made in the US. The album title is taken from the track of the same name on Wednesday's Skeletons album.
