Ronald P. Maierhofer is a retired American soccer forward who owned the Denver Avalanche of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
Maierhofer graduated from the Park School of Buffalo, New York in 1953. At Park, he was a four year soccer letterman. Maierhofer also achieved All-League honors in basketball, track and baseball. He is a member of the Park School Hall of Fame. He then attended Cornell University where he was a 1959 Second Team All American soccer player. [1] In addition to playing soccer, he was also a midfielder on the lacrosse team in 1958 and 1959 and was a member of the Quill and Dagger society. He graduated in 1960 with a bachelor's degree in Industrial and Labor Relations and was inducted into the Cornell University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986. In 1959, he played for the U.S. soccer team which placed third at the Pan American Games. He briefly played for a team based in Toronto.
In 1979, Maierhofer was the Vice President of Operations for IHS Inc. when he decided he wanted to own a soccer team. He decided to place the team in Denver, Colorado and after a successful application to Major Indoor Soccer League, he was awarded the franchise in February 1980. The team played two seasons in MISL before entering bankruptcy in 1983.

He formerly owned the Phoenix Suns of the NBA, the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA, the Arizona Sandsharks of the Continental Indoor Soccer League, the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League, and the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball. He was also instrumental in the relocation of the original Winnipeg Jets team in the NHL to Phoenix to become the Phoenix Coyotes. In 2014, Grand Canyon University renamed its Christian based school of business after Jerry Colangelo, replacing Ken Blanchard's namesake. From December 2015 to April 2016, Colangelo served as Chairman of Basketball Operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, before serving as a special advisor to the team until December 2018.

Fernando Caetano Clavijo Cedrés was a Uruguayan-American soccer defender and former head coach of the New England Revolution and Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. He played three seasons in the American Soccer League, two in the North American Soccer League and ten in the Major Indoor Soccer League. He earned 61 caps with the United States men's national soccer team and eight with the U.S. national futsal team. He later coached both indoor and outdoor teams as well as at the national team level with Nigeria and Haiti. He was a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame and is a 2014 inductee into the Indoor Soccer Hall of Fame.

George Brown is an English-born American former soccer forward who played his entire career in the United States. He signed with an amateur team in 1950 at the age of fifteen and was highly successful until suffering a knee injury in 1957. Although he continued to play until 1962, he never regained the full use of his knee. He worked for Exxon, an oil company, for over thirty years, coaching youth soccer throughout the world. He earned one cap with the U.S. national team in 1957, won a bronze medal at the 1959 Pan-Am Games in Chicago, and is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
