Rondo ONZ is a station on the central part of Line M2 of the Warsaw Metro.
The station fully opened for passenger use on 8 March 2015 as part of the inaugural stretch of Line M2 between Rondo Daszyńskiego and Dworzec Wileński. [1] [2] It was designed by Polish architect Andrzej M. Chołdzyński and constructed by Metroprojekt. [3] Murals were created by Wojciech Fangor, artist of the Polish School of Posters.
The station is located under the ONZ Roundabout , a traffic circle situated on the border of Śródmieście and Wola, which is named after United Nations Organisation.
The Warsaw Metro is a rapid transit underground system serving the Polish capital Warsaw. It currently consists of two lines, the north–south Line M1 which links central Warsaw with its densely populated northern and southern districts, and the east–west Line M2. Three more lines are still being planned. The system is operated by Metro Warszawskie sp. z o.o., a company owned by the city, and managed by Zarząd Transportu Miejskiego w Warszawie. As of 2024 it is the only metro system in Poland.
Świętokrzyska is a transfer station on Lines M1 and M2 of the Warsaw Metro, located under the crossing of Świętokrzyska and Marszałkowska streets in the borough of Śródmieście. The station on M1 was opened on 11 May 2001 as part of the extension of M1 north from Centrum to Ratusz. Świętokrzyska has a non-revenue track that connects Lines M1 and M2 in order for M2 rolling stock to access Kabaty depot on M1 while the new Karolin depot on M2 is being built, and is the only interchange station between M1 and M2 metro lines.
