Location

The hot springs are located in the State Park which offers camping, cabins, swimming, hiking and fishing. They are handicapped accessible, with railings, and one can drive a vehicle up to the spring. [3] About eight people can fit in the single rock and concrete pool. [1]

A spring is a point at which water flows from an aquifer to the Earth's surface. It is a component of the hydrosphere. Springs have long been important for humans as a source of water, especially in arid regions which have relatively little annual rainfall. They range in flow rate from nearly zero to more than 450 cubic feet per second, for the biggest springs. Springs are fed by groundwater, which is forced to the surface by various natural forces such as gravity and water pressure.

Lake Mineral Wells State Park & Trailway is a state park located in Mineral Wells, Parker County, Texas. It includes Lake Mineral Wells, and is the only state park in Texas which protects part of the Western Cross Timbers and Mineral Wells Trailway. Also within the park is Penitentiary Hollow, a somewhat unusual geological feature which resembles a small canyon. It is a popular site for rock climbing, though the only type of climbing allowed is top-rope. The park also features over 31 miles (50 km) of hiking trails, 25 miles (40 km) of which are open to bicycles and horses. Campsites can be found by the small lake, and up on the higher areas of the park, as well.

Hot Lake Hotel is a historic Colonial Revival hotel originally built in 1864 in Hot Lake, Union County, Oregon, United States. The hotel received its namesake from the thermal spring lakes on the property, and operated as a luxury resort and sanitorium during the turn of the century, advertising the medicinal attributes of the mineral water and drawing visitors worldwide. It is also the first known commercial building in the world to utilize geothermal energy as its primary heat source.
