The Rothmans International Tennis Tournament was a men's tennis tournament held in London, England between 1970 and 1977. The tournament was played on indoor carpet courts at Royal Albert Hall in London, except for the final edition in 1977 which was played at Earls Court, and was held in the March. [1] From 1973 until 1977 the tournament was organized as part of the World Championship Tennis circuit.

    The Championships, Wimbledon Tennis tournament

    The Championships, Wimbledon, commonly known simply as Wimbledon or The Championships, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world, and is regarded by many as the most prestigious. It has been held at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London, since 1877 and is played on outdoor grass courts, and since 2009 with a retractable roof over Centre Court.

    Hildegard "Hilde" Krahwinkel Sperling was a German tennis player who became a dual-citizen after marrying Dane Svend Sperling in December 1933. She won three consecutive singles titles at the French Championships from 1935 to 1937. Krahwinkel Sperling is generally regarded as the second-greatest female German tennis player in history, behind Steffi Graf. Sperling played a counterpunching game, predicated on speed, and wore down opponents. Helen Jacobs once wrote that Sperling was the third-best player she ever played, behind Helen Wills Moody and Suzanne Lenglen.

    The 1989 Nabisco Masters were tennis tournaments played on indoor carpet courts at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, United States and at the Royal Albert Hall in London in England. It was the 20th edition of the year-end singles championships, the 15th edition of the year-end doubles championships, and both tournaments were part of the 1989 Nabisco Grand Prix. The singles championships were held in New York from November 27 through December 3, 1989, while the doubles championship were held in London from December 6 through December 10, 1989.

    The U.S. Men's Clay Court Championship is an annual ATP Tour tennis tournament that started in 1910. It is the last remaining ATP World Tour-level tournament in the United States to be played on clay courts.

    The Eastbourne International is a tennis tournament on the Women's Tennis Association Tour and the ATP World Tour held at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club, Eastbourne, United Kingdom. Held since 1974, it is classified as a WTA Premier tournament on the WTA Tour and an ATP World Tour 250 series on the ATP World Tour. The tournament is played on outdoor grass courts, and is generally considered a "warm-up" for the Wimbledon Grand Slam event, which begins the following week.     The Monte-Carlo Masters is an annual tennis tournament for male professional players held in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France, a commune that borders on Monaco. The event is part of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. The tournament is played on clay courts and is held every year in the April–May period.

    The Hall of Fame Open is an international tennis tournament that has been held every year in July since 1976 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, the original location of the U.S. National Championships. The event, which was part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit from 1976–1989, features a 32-player singles draw and a doubles tournament. Each year that the tournament has been held there is an induction ceremony for the Hall of Fame. It was the tour finals for the doubles season of the WCT Tour section. The tournament was held from January 3 through January 8, 1984.

    The 1985 WCT World Doubles, also known by its sponsored name WCT Fuji Film World Doubles Championships, was a men's tennis tournament played on indoor carpet courts at Royal Albert Hall in London, England that was part of the 1985 Nabisco Grand Prix. It was the tour finals for the doubles season of the WCT Tour section. It was the 13th edition of the tournament and was held from 1 January through 6 January 1985. Ken Flach and Robert Seguso won the title.

    The Kent Championships also known as the Kent All-Comers' Championships was a tennis tournament held in Foxgrove Road, Beckenham, Kent, England between 1886 and 1996 and was held in the first half of June. From 1887 until 1910 the tournament was organized as an All-Comers event, the winner of which would play the title holder from previous year in the Challenge Round. The tournament was played on outdoor grass courts at Beckenham Cricket Club a multi sport club that was established in 1866 in Foxgrove Road, Beckenham with the lawn tennis section of the club established in 1879.

    The 1971 Rothmans International Tennis Tournament was a men's professional tennis tournament held on indoor carpet courts in the Royal Albert Hall in London, England. It was the second edition of the tournament and was held from 28 February through 4 March 1971. It was an independent event, i.e. not part of either the 1971Grand Prix or 1971 World Championship Tennis circuit. Rod Laver won the singles title.

    Carpet court type of tennis court

    A carpet court is a type of tennis court. The International Tennis Federation describes the surface as a "textile or polymeric material supplied in rolls or sheets of finished product." It is one of the fastest court types second only to grass courts. The use of carpet courts in ATP Tour competitions ended in 2009. In women's tennis, no WTA Tour tournaments have used carpet courts since the last edition of the Tournoi de Québec in 2018.
