Politics of Bangladesh takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic republic,whereby the Prime Minister of Bangladesh is the head of government and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and parliament. The Constitution of Bangladesh was written in 1972 and has undergone seventeen amendments.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is a major political party in Bangladesh. Founded on 1 September 1978 by Bangladeshi president Ziaur Rahman with a view of uniting people with a nationalist ideology,BNP later became one of the two dominant parties in Bangladesh,along with its archrival Awami League. Initially a big tent centrist party,it later moved towards more right-wing politics.
Motiur Rahman Nizami was a politician,former Minister of Bangladesh,writer and a former Ameer of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. He is noted for leading Al-Badr during the Bangladesh Liberation War. On 29 October 2014,he was convicted of masterminding the Demra massacre by the International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh. Nizami was the Member of Parliament for the Pabna-1 constituency from 1991 to 1996 and again from 2001 to 2006. He also served as the Bangladeshi Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Industry.

Hawa Bhaban is the political office of the chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party,and monitors party affairs on the chair's behalf. It was viewed as an "alternate power house" in Bangladesh when BNP was in power from 2001 to 2006. It became controversial during the 2006–2008 Bangladeshi political crisis when the party joint secretary was Tarique Rahman,son and heir apparent of the chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party Khaleda Zia. Some government officials maintained regular contact with viya (Tareq) to manipulate administrative matters such as promotion,posting,appointment etc. in different ministries and divisions. This resulted in a parallel government being administered from Hawa Bhaban.
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 5 January 2014,in accordance with the constitutional requirement that elections must take place within the 90-day period before the expiration of the term of the Jatiya Sangshad on 24 January 2014.
Khondkar Delwar Hossain was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician. He served as the secretary general of the party. He was elected five times as a Member of Parliament from constituency Manikganj-1 (Ghior-Doulatpur).
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 30 December 2018 to elect 300 directly-elected members of the Jatiya Sangsad. The result was another landslide victory for the Awami League-led Grand Alliance led by Sheikh Hasina. The elections were marred by violence,and were widely considered by opposition politicians and the international community to be rigged.
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury is a standing committee member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party,and former minister of commerce. He hails from a political family in Chittagong and headed the city's BNP unit momentarily to organize the party.
Abdullah Al Noman is a Bangladeshi politician who is a vice-chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. He is a 3-term Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Chittagong-9 constituency. He served as a minister of fisheries and food in the second Khaleda Cabinet.
Moni Swapan Dewan alias Major Rajesh is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician,ethnic Chakma,and a former member of parliament from the Chittagong Hill Tracts. He is also the former deputy minister for Hill Tracts Affairs.

Khairul Kabir Khokon is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and a former member of parliament for Narsingdi-1,who currently serves as the party's assistant secretary. He had served as the president of Narsingdi District unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
Harunur Rashid is a politician of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and was the Jatiya Sangsad member for the Chapai Nawabganj-3 constituency from 2019 to 2022.

Shahidul Islam is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and a two term member of parliament for Kushtia-2 from 1996 to 2006. He was known for filing cases and attacking journalists in Kushtia District.
Noor Afroze Begum Jyoti is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and a former member of parliament from a reserved seat.
Muhammad Abdul Hafiz is a judge of the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court.
