Rukuba (also Ungwan Rukuba) is a district in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State in the Middle Belt region of Nigeria. [2] The postal code for the area is 930. [3]

John Nanzip Shagaya was a Nigerian senator and former military officer who was elected in April 2007 to represent the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State as member of the Nigerian Senate for Plateau South. He ran for reelection in April 2011 on the Labour Party (LP) platform, but was defeated by Victor Lar of the PDP. As a non commissioned officer (NCO) with the 2nd Reconnaissance Squadron in Abeokuta, he participated in the Nigerian counter-coup of 1966.

Air Commodore Jonah David Jang (Rtd) CON is a Nigerian statesman who was the Governor of Plateau State from 2007 to 2015. He had previously served as Military Governor of Benue State and Gongola State He ran successfully for re-election on 26 April 2011. In 2015, Jang ran and won Plateau North senate seat as his term as Governor of Plateau State drew to a close. In 2018 Jang declared his senate seat vacant and said it was time for the people of Plateau North to decide who would represent them at the red chamber. The 2019 Plateau State House of Assembly election was held on March 9, 2019, to elect members of the Plateau State House of Assembly in Nigeria. All the 24 seats were up for election in the Plateau State House of Assembly.
