Mihalis Rakintzis is a Greek singer. He was born in Athens and studied Mechanical Engineering in the United Kingdom. From 1982 to 1985, he participated at a rock group called Scraptown. After three albums & a maxi-single Scraptown split up and Rakintzis started a solo career.
Assemblage 23 is an electronic act from the United States, currently based in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. It was founded in 1988 by Tom Shear who writes the music and lyrics and does the recording himself. Live performances are supported by Paul Seegers on keyboards and Mike Jenney on drums.

"Better Alone" is a song by British singer-songwriter, Melanie C. It was released as the second single from her third album Beautiful Intentions. The song is a piano-backed ballad which covers themes such as independence and emancipation from a stifling relationship. In the United Kingdom, it was available to purchase from iTunes and from the online shop on Melanie C's website, which sold a limited run of two physical CDs and a DVD single. It was also released in Australia, Italy, Sweden and Netherlands. In February 2006, after the success of First Day of My Life, "Better Alone" was released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland accompanied by a new music video, selling over 200,000 copies worldwide.

It features Puerto Rican singer and songwriter India and was released in 1996 as the first and lead single from their debut album, Nuyorican Soul (1997). The song is a cover of The Salsoul Orchestra's recording "Run Away", featuring American singer Loleatta Holloway from 1977. The new version was very successful in clubs and reached number-one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in the US.
