The Rungra People's Pleasure Ground is an amusement park located in Rungra Island,Pyongyang,North Korea. It was opened in 2012 in a ceremony with Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol-ju. [1] [2] [3] It has a dolphinarium,swimming pool,arcade,mini golf course,fun fair,and courts for tennis,badminton,and volleyball. [4] The park has been expanded many times over the years and now has its own trolley transportation system.
The park entrance fee was 2000 won in 2012,equivalent to around USD$20 at the official exchange rate or USD$0.25 at the black market rate. [5] [6]
Kim Chaek University of Technology (Korean: 김책공업종합대학) is a university in North Korea,on the banks of the Taedong River in Pyongyang. It is named after General Kim Chaek.
Jo Myong-rok was a North Korean military officer who held the military rank Chasu. In 1998,he was appointed first vice-chairman of the National Defence Commission of North Korea,Director of the Korean People's Army General Political Bureau. Previously,he was the commander of the air defence forces.
The death of Kim Jong Il was reported by North Korean state television news on 19 December 2011. The presenter Ri Chun-hee announced that he had died on 17 December at 8:30 am of a massive heart attack while travelling by train to an area outside Pyongyang. Reportedly,he had received medical treatment for cardiac and cerebrovascular diseases,and during the trip,Kim was said to have had an "advanced acute myocardial infarction,complicated with a serious heart shock". However,it was reported in December 2012 by South Korean media that the heart attack had instead occurred in a fit of rage over construction faults in a crucial power plant project at Huichon in Chagang Province.
Kim Il Sung died of a sudden heart attack on the early morning of 8 July 1994 at age 82. North Korea's government did not report the death for more than 34 hours after it occurred. An official mourning period was declared from 8–17 July,during which the national flag was flown at half mast throughout the country,and all forms of amusement and dancing were prohibited.
The Kaeson Youth Park is an amusement park located in Pyongyang,North Korea. The park,located near the Kim Il Sung Stadium and in the west foot of Moran Hill was opened in 1984,the park was opened as part of the Triumphal Arch dedication. It included a carousel,fun house and amusement park rides like the Ferris wheel,comprising an area of 40 hectares.

The Unhasu Orchestra was a musical group based in Pyongyang,North Korea. It performed primarily with Western instruments,sometimes performing alongside traditional Korean soloists. The orchestra has a concert hall,the Unhasu Theater in Pyongyang,dedicated for its use. Ri Sol-ju,the wife of Kim Jong-un,was a singer in this group. According to ex-North Korean senior government official Thae Yong-ho,the orchestra was disbanded on the 12th August 2013.
The Moranbong Band,also known as the Moran Hill Orchestra,is a North Korean girl group. The original members were selected by the country's supreme leader,Kim Jong Un. Performing interpretive styles of pop,rock,and fusion,they are the first all-female band from the DPRK,and made their world debut on 6 July 2012. Their varied musical style has been described as symphonic because it is "putting together different kinds of sounds,and ending in a harmonious,pleasing result."
The Kim family,officially the Mount Paektu bloodline in the ideological discourse of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK),and often referred to as the Kim dynasty after the Cold War's end,is a three-generation lineage of North Korean leadership,descending from the country's founder and first leader,Kim Il Sung. Kim Il Sung came to rule the north in 1948,after the end of Japanese rule split the region in 1945. Following his death in 1994,Kim Il Sung's role as supreme leader was passed on to his son Kim Jong Il,and then to his grandson Kim Jong Un. All three leaders have served as leaders of the WPK and served as North Korea's supreme leaders since the state's establishment in 1948.
Oh,Youth!,also called O Youth!,is a 1995 North Korean comedy drama film directed by Jon Jong Pal and written by Ri Il Chol,which was originally titled "Chongchuniyo!". While North Korea is not typically known for releasing comedies,Oh Youth! is a rare example of a comedic film produced in the DPRK,with English subtitles,and can be viewed on YouTube. Of note is that,while mention of the late North Korean leader Kim Jong-il is a typical occurrence,the success of the characters is not attributed to him.

Chongbong Band is a North Korean light music choir and orchestra. The group consists of seven members:singers and instrumentalists playing mainly brass instruments. According to KCNA,the band members are instrumentalists of the Wangjaesan Art Troupe and singers of the Moranbong Band's chorus.

The Pyongyang Maternity Hospital is a maternity and teaching hospital in Pyongyang. Nurses and midwives are educated in the hospital for work outside the North Korean capital. There is a neonatal intensive care unit at the hospital. In addition,there are multiple different wards,such as dental and breast cancer wards,to treat mothers' various health problems.
The Kim Il Sung Prize (Korean: 김일성상) is an award given by the Government of North Korea to persons in various fields who demonstrate exemplary service to the values of Juche idea. Past winners include the Korean composer Kim Won-gyun,judoka Kye Sun-hui,and the Arirang Festival.
The Kim–Xi meetings were a series of summits between North Korea and China during 2018 and 2019. North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un secretly met with Chinese paramount leader Xi Jinping on March 25–28,2018. Xi made a classified invitation to Kim to visit China,after which Kim visited Beijing and used his bullet proof train to travel to the three-day meeting. It is his first known out-of-country diplomatic trip since taking power. Kim and Xi had a second surprise meeting on May 7–8,2018 in the city of Dalian. Kim and Xi had a third surprise meeting on June 19–20,2018. They had a fourth surprise meeting on January 7–10,2019 in Beijing,followed by a fifth official DPRK and China summit June 20–21,2019 in the Forbidden City,Pyongyang.
Ri Yong-suk was a North Korean politician and revolutionary. A veteran of the anti-Japanese struggle,Ri had close relations with all three generations of the Kim dynasty. During WWII,she was with Kim Il Sung in the Soviet 88th Separate Rifle Brigade. During the Korean War,she took care of Kim Jong Il,eldest son and future heir of Kim Il Sung. Under Kim Jong Un,she was portrayed as a link between the original guerrilla generation and the current leadership. Ri was elected to the Supreme People's Assembly in 1998 and 2003.
