The Russian Women's Water Polo Championship is the premier championship for women's water polo clubs in Russia. Founded in 1992 following the breakup of the Soviet Union, it is currently contested by ten teams.

Contents

Kinef Kirishi is the competition's most successful team, having won its last 19 editions. Double European champion SKIF Izmaylovo and Uralochka Zlatoust also dominated the competition in previous years. [1]

It is organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN) and was created in 1987 as LEN European Cup.

The LEN Women's Euro Cup, formerly the Women's LEN Trophy, is LEN's second-tier competition for women's water polo clubs. It was first held in 2000 as the LEN Women's Cup Winners' Cup. It was contested for many seasons by around 15 teams, which could qualify for it either directly due to high ranking in their domestic league or by being eliminated at certain stages of the Champions' Cup. After the last reformations in the European competitions system by LEN, only four teams contesting for the trophy, coming after elimination at that season's LEN Euro League quarterfinals stage. Italy's Gifa Palermo, Ortigia, Racing Roma, Imperia, Russia's Shturm Ruza, and Greece's Ethnikos are the most successful clubs in the competition with two titles each.

HC SKIF Nizhny Novgorod are a Russian ice hockey team in the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL). They play in Nizhny Novgorod at the CEC Nagorny, which is also home to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL. SKIF have won the Russian Championship in women's ice hockey twelve times, three more wins than any other team, and won the IIHF European Women's Champions Cup in 2009 and 2015.

The 2021 Women's LEN Super Cup was the 15th edition of the annual trophy organised by LEN and contested by the reigning champions of the two European competitions for Women's water polo clubs. The match was an all-Greek derby between European champions Olympiacos Piraeus of Greece and Kinef Kirishi of Russia. The match was held in Piraeus, Greece, on 17 December 2022.
