Ryan Eric Butterworth (born 14 April 1981) is a Zimbabwean former cricketer who played for the Mashonaland Eagles. He is a right-handed batsman,and right-arm medium-pace bowler,and is described as a batting all-rounder.
Butterworth attended Gateway Primary School in Harare,where his cricketing ability was immediately apparent,as he captained the team during most of his time there. His best performances with both bat and ball came against Eaglesvale School,against whom he scored 96 not out and claimed eight wickets in separate matches. In 1993,he was captain of the Harare Schools B team in national primary schools week. He advanced to Prince Edward School,where he also captained teams throughout his years at the school,although cricket was not his main sport,instead taking third place behind swimming and triathlon. He was a member of the school's first team for four years,where his best score was 133 not out against Peterhouse Boys' School. [1]
Butterworth made his first-class debut in 2001,appearing for the CFX Academy. He played five first-class matches for the team,scoring 182 runs;though over half of these came in just one of his eight innings,when he reached 113. [2] The amount of first-class cricket he played decreased over each of the following seasons,and he did not play at all between the 2004–05 and 2007–08 seasons. He played a vastly increased number of matches in 2009–10,appearing 12 times for the Mashonaland Eagles,averaging over 30 with the bat,and passing 100 on two occasions. [3]
Butterworth spent two seasons as a professional for Whitehaven Cricket Club in Cumbria scoring over 1800 runs and taking 93 wickets over the two seasons.
In 2010–11,Butterworth was named as the player of the series in the Stanbic Bank 20 Series, [4] scoring 165 runs at an average of 82.50. His performance in this tournament also saw him called up to the Zimbabwe national squad for the One Day International tour to Bangladesh. [5]
Brendan Ross Murray Taylor is a Zimbabwean former international cricketer and a former Zimbabwean captain,who played all formats of the game. Taylor is a right-handed batsman but is also an off spinner. In 2015,former Zimbabwe captain Alistair Campbell described Taylor as "our standout player for the last seven or eight years". He is known for his unorthodox shots especially his ability to play upper cuts over the third man and ramp shots with elegance and are often considered as his trademark signature shots. His style of play and ability to make substantial contribution with the bat often drew comparions with that of Andy Flower. He represented Zimbabwe in four ICC T20 World Cup tournaments in 2007,2010,2012 and 2014. Also,he represented Zimbabwe in three ICC ODI world cups as well in 2007,2011 and 2015.
Douglas Anthony Marillier,known as Dougie Marillier,is a former Zimbabwean cricketer,who played Tests and One Day International cricket for the national side.

The Domestic Twenty20 formerly known as and Stanbic Bank Twenty20 the Metropolitan Bank Twenty20 is the domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Zimbabwe. It was formed in 2007 and maintained by Zimbabwe Cricket. It features all the national and domestic players from Zimbabwe and some international stars. Recently,the tournament has risen in profile with some high-quality cricket,and the attraction of major international stars such as Brian Lara,Ryan Sidebottom,Chris Gayle,Shaun Tait,Ian Harvey,and Dirk Nannes. The tournament particularly rose in profile after the reorganization of cricket in Zimbabwe. It was so successful in the 2009–10 season that the tournament was again held in November. In 2009–10,a domestic-cricket record 7500 spectators came into the Harare Sports Club to see the final between Mountaineers and Mashonaland Eagles. It was most recently sponsored by Stanbic Bank (Uganda) Limited.
Regis Wiriranai Chakabva is a Zimbabwean cricketer and vice-captain of the team in all formats of the game. He is a right-handed wicket-keeper batter. He played through school-level cricket and started making his mark as a good batter with sound wicket-keeping abilities. He got picked to play for Zimbabwe.
Darlington Rutendo Matambanadzo is a former Zimbabwean first-class cricketer who is the twin brother of Test cricketer Everton Matambanadzo.
The Southern Rocks is one of five Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are a first-class cricket team,based in the Masvingo and Matabeleland South area. They play their home matches at Masvingo Sports Club in Masvingo. The team initially ceased to play after the 2013–14 season. In their 47 first-class matches they won 3,lost 27,and drew 17. However,in December 2020,Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed they would be one of the teams playing in the 2020–21 Logan Cup Southern Rocks won their first Logan Cup trophy in the same 2020–21 season.
The Mashonaland Eagles is one of five cricket Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are based in the Harare Metropolitan and Mashonaland Central area and play both first-class and limited overs cricket. They play their home matches at Harare Sports Club in Harare.
The 2009–10 Stanbic Bank 20 Series was a Twenty20 cricket competition held in Zimbabwe from 12–20 February 2010. It was won by the Mountaineers,who defeated the Mashonaland Eagles in the final by nine wickets.
Tendai Larry Chatara is an international cricketer who represents the Zimbabwe national cricket team. A tall,wiry fast bowler with appreciable pace and the ability to move the ball away from the right-hander,Chatara has risen quickly to prominence since his first-class debut for Mountaineers in 2009. Though he was not good academically in school,he is one of the most talented pace prospects of his country.
The Pro50 Championship,formerly known as the Faithwear Metbank One-Day Competition,Metbank Pro40 Championship,Faithwear Inter-Provincial Tournament,and Coca-Cola Metbank Pro50 Championship is the premier List A cricket tournament in Zimbabwe,organized by Zimbabwe Cricket. This tournament was started after the Zimbabwean cricket crisis,recommended by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It is jointly sponsored by Metbank and Coca-Cola.
Calum Walter Price is a domestic and former Zimbabwean Under-19 cricketer. Along with the likes of Keegan Meth and Kyle Jarvis,he is regarded as a great future pace prospect for Zimbabwe. Price belongs to a sporting family;his cousin Ryan Higgins,regarded as the second best leg spinner Zimbabwe has produced before taking an early retirement,played ODIs for Zimbabwe and his cousin Dylan captained the Under-19 side at the 2010 World Cup in New Zealand. Dylan was also selected for the ICC World XI with his good pal The Stoin.

The 2017–18 Logan Cup was the 24th edition of the Logan Cup,a first-class cricket competition that took place in Zimbabwe. It started on 4 October 2017 and included a new team,the Rising Stars,along with the existing four teams. Mountaineers were the defending champions.
The 2018–19 Logan Cup was the 25th edition of the Logan Cup,a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe,that started on 3 December 2018. The tournament featured four teams,instead of the five that took part in the previous edition,with the Rising Stars being disbanded. The other change to the 2018–19 tournament was that it was being played across six rounds,instead of ten,as per previous years. Mountaineers were the defending champions.
