Ryan Northcott is a Canadian Actor, Writer, Director, and Producer known for his work as Stevie Weeks in the film Mystery, Alaska, Carl Wilson in The Beach Boys: An American Family, and his recurring role as Mitch Wheeler on the television series Tribal .

Northcott was born in Calgary, Alberta and graduated from Western Canada High School.

Acting Career - Film, Television, YouTube

In his last year of high school, Northcott booked the role of Stevie Weeks in Mystery, Alaska. Originally auditioning for a small role, the casting director from Los Angeles, Linda Lowy, asked Northcott if he would be interested in auditioning for Stevie Weeks. [1]

While living in Los Angeles, he played Carl Wilson in the Emmy Nominated miniseries The Beach Boys: An American Family, [2] Jason Korda alongside AJ Cook in the horror film from Director John Eyres, Ripper: Letter from Hell, Stosh in MVP: Most Valuable Primate, where he played the knitting hockey player and Stefan Masters in the Fox Family Channel TV movie Don't Look Behind You. [3]

Northcott moved back to Calgary in 2007 and started a sketch comedy YouTube channel with high school mate David Haysom called FUDDYTV. [4] One of their first sketches, "News Reporter Chuck Storm Hits Pole", went viral. [5] They followed up with “Car Dance Party Moscow” which caught the attention of Toyota Belgium's agency Happiness Brussels and the group flew to Belgium to produce “Car Dance Party Belgium” for Toyota. Northcott returned to the television screen with roles on the CBC Show Wild Roses and Mike Pontipee in the Lifetime TV movie 12 Men of Christmas starring Kristin Chenoweth.

After a long absence from the screen - he restarted his acting career on Away & Back, working with The Beach Boys: An American Family Director Jeff Bleckner a second time. A year later he'd be cast as Wyatt Earp in the fan favourite show Wynonna Earp.

Over the next three years, Northcott would book a slew of roles on JANN on CTV, The Twilight Zone, CBC's Heartland, the Dutch Film Penoza, Let Him Go with Kevin Costner and Diane Lane, Parallel Minds, Marlene, Jasmine Road, They Who Surround Us, Range Roads, and most recently the recurring role of Mitch Wheeler, Forensics Lead on the APTN show Tribal and the Hallmark movie A Winter Getaway.

Screenwriting/Directing/Producing

In 2011, Northcott started a production company and began writing, shooting, directing, and producing. [9]

In 2019, he completed production on his first short film “Ameera” and followed up with “Once Upon a Pandemic” which he wrote, directed, shot, and edited. The film stars himself, his daughter Madeleine Murphy-Northcott, and Marlene Co-star Kristin Booth - Once Upon a Pandemic was selected to several film festivals:

Northcott's next writing and directing film project, “Going Down” is scheduled to begin filming in 2021 with the support of ACTRA Alberta. [14] [15]
