S. A. Chinne Gowda is an Indian film producer and distributor of Kannada films. [1]

Personal life

Gowda was born in Saligrama to Appaji Gowda and Lakshmamma. He married Jayamma and has two sons. Jayamma is also a film producer who produced movies like sevanthi sevanthi . [2] Both of his sons -- Sri Murali and Vijay Raghavendra are film actors. [3] [4] [5]

Parvathamma Rajkumar, his elder sister, and his other two brothers - S. A. Govindaraj and S. A. Srinivas -, are also producers in Kannada film industry. [6] [7]

He worked as treasurer and vice-president for Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce - KFCC. [1] [8]

As an actor, he is known for his work in Kannada cinema, appearing often in supporting roles. <i>Manamecchida Hudugi</i> 1987 Indian film

Manamecchida Hudugi is a 1987 Indian Kannada-language romantic drama film directed by M. S. Rajashekar, starring Shiva Rajkumar, Sudha Rani and Sundar Krishna Urs. The film was produced by S. A. Chinne Gowda and S. A. Srinivas in the banner of Kathyayini Cine Art Combines. Chi. Udayashankar penned the dialogues and wrote the screenplay. The film was based on the novel Bete by Kum. Veerabhadrappa. It was a major success. The film was remade in Tamil as Annakili Sonna Kathai (1989) with Sudha Rani reprising her role.

Kannada film actor Rajkumar was abducted by Veerappan on July 30, 2000, during the course of an armed attack on a farmhouse belonging to the actor in Gajanur, India. Rajkumar was released by Veerappan on November 15, 2000, after spending 108 days in his custody. The abduction resulted in further deterioration of already strained relations between the Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, creating a tense situation in the two states.

Parvathamma Rajkumar was an Indian film producer and distributor. She was the wife and cousin of veteran Kannada actor Dr. Rajkumar. She produced successful films featuring him and their sons Shiva Rajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar under the production house named "Poornima Enterprises". Actresses who found fame in her productions include Malashri, Prema, Rakshita, Sudha Rani and Ramya. She was awarded a doctorate by Bangalore University.

The music was composed by Hamsalekha, while the cinematography and editing were handled by R. Giri and S. Manohar. The film marked the last acting venture of Dr. Rajkumar.

<i>Attahasa</i> 2013 Indian film

Attahasa (transl. Defiance) is a 2013 Indian Kannada-language biographical film directed by A. M. R. Ramesh, based on the notorious forest brigand Veerappan. Kishore plays the role of Veerappan in the film, whilst featuring Arjun Sarja and Suresh Oberoi. After much delay in the theatrical release the film was opened to screens on 14 February 2013 all across the southern states of India to positive reviews. The film was partially reshot in Tamil as Vana Yuddham. The film was dubbed into Telugu as Veerappan.

Sri Harikathe is a 2010 Indian Kannada language romantic thriller film directed by Dayal Padmanabhan. The film stars Sri Murali, Pooja Gandhi, Radhika Gandhi and Naveen Krishna in pivotal roles. The film is jointly produced by S. A. Chinne Gowda and M. N. Kumar.
