SDM College of Medical Sciences is situated at Manjusreenagar in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. The college is located near to Navalur railway station in between Hubli and Dharwad. The school offers educational courses in medicine and surgery leading to MBBS degree. The college is run by SDM Educational Society, Ujire. The college was established in the year 2003.The college has a well equipped hospital attached to it. SDM College of Medical Sciences is one of the largest private medical institute in the country and the largest in Karnataka.

Saraswatipur is a residential locality that is part of Dharwad city of Karnataka state, India. Saraswatpur is located on top of a hillock besotted with old bungalows and garden in front of them. Saraswatpur is near to Malmaddi, another locality of Dharwad. The name is derived because of concentration of Saraswat Brahmins in the area. Saraswatpur has been developed to an urban locality in the recent years. Being very close to some educational institutions like SDM College of Engineering and Technology helped the rapid development of this place. Also it is very near to the century-old Dharwad Railway station. Famous personalities like Girish Karnad and Leena Chandavarkar hail from this area. Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubballi is a medical school in Hubballi, India and is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka. It is one of the oldest government tertiary healthcare centers, and the largest multi-specialty hospital in North Karnataka, recognized by the Medical Council of India. In June 1997, the then Karnataka Medical College was accorded autonomous status and became the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubballi.

Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad is an autonomous engineering and technology institute in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. IIT Dharwad started functioning from July 2016 in a temporary campus, previously of the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) in Belur Industrial Area, on the outskirts of Dharwad city. It was formally inaugurated on 28 August 2016. For the academic year 2016–2017, the institute offered B.Tech courses in three branches, namely. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering. The year 2021 saw the introduction of an additional branch, Engineering physics.
