SOMOS Films LLC is a Miami based company that produces feature films in Spanish for theatrical wide release, television, internet and other distribution means. SOMOS Films is part of the SOMOS Group [1] (SOMOSTV, SOMOS Productions, SOMOS Distribution, SOMOS Next, SOMOS Fast and SOMOS Films). [2] SOMOS Films produces its own projects and participates in co-production with international partnering companies. [3] In its coproduction projects the company works with local talent at creative, technical and artistic levels.
In 2018, Somos Films produced its first film Muerte en Berruecos , a movie about the assassination of South America's independence hero Antonio Jose de Sucre, [4] together with Digivision Producciones, premiered in Venezuela in the month of April.[ citation needed ] Muerte en Berruecos was nominated to the Goya Awards for Best Ibero-American Film at the 35th edition. In 2019, The company produced Voy Por Ti, which depicts bullying in schools, co-produced with Cnac, Xenon Films and Zona Filmica, which premiered at the Miami International Film Festival. [5] and winner of Special Jury Award at the Festival del Cinema Latino Americano di Trieste. [6]
The company completed the production of Especial (starred by Ruper Vásquez and Greyber Rengifo), a story about a child with Down Syndrome, [7] in co-production with El Dorado Films and Divarte Cine and El Paraiso de La Serpiente, with Biznaga Films, Cine Provincia, Bibi Film and La Maroma Producciones (Mexico). Both films are participated in international film festivals. [8] [9] [10] Especial won the award "Best Fiction Film" at The Venezuelan Film Festival in July, 2021. [11] and also the Silver Hugo award in the New Directors category in the Chicago International Film Festival.
In 2021, SOMOS Films finished the production of Hotel Providencia, filmed in Margarita Island, together with 58 Films, Sghettisawz and Digivisión Producciones, [12] as well as the Venezuelan production with Divarte Producciones Un Cupido sin puntería (starred by Luis Geronimo Abreu and Claudia La Gatta) [13] and "One Way" (filmed in Caracas), [14] with Rodando Films C.A. The company also produced "El Quinceanero de mi abuela" (starred by Mónica Pastrana, Johanna Rosaly, Linette Torres and Jorge Luis Ramos) y "Al Reves" (with Angelique Burgos and Obie Bermúdez) en la isla de Puerto Rico in co-production with Pinolywood Studios. SOMOS Films and Rodando Films finished the comedy "Amor en el Aire" in Colombia and the company finished in 2023 the film "Julia tiene Sugar" with Divarte Films, directed by Jose Antonio Varela.
More recently, in 2024, SOMOS Films and Rodando Films produced the comedy "Tres Dias para Reconquistarla" in Colombia. The comedy was directed by Carlos Daniel Malave and starred by Guillermo García (Alberto), Carolina Piedrahita (Clara), Gabriela Mezone (Julia) and Andres Castaneda (G y C)

Margarita Cadenas, is a Venezuelan-French director, producer and screenwriter.
El Caracazo is 2005 Venezuelan historical film that deals with the events of El Caracazo, the name given to a series of riots and lootings in and around Caracas on 27 February 1989. The film was produced and directed by the veteran Venezuelan filmmaker Román Chalbaud. It is a documentary drama, not only about the titular tragedy but also putting it in historical perspective. The film cost 3 billion bolívares, provided by the Ministry of Culture.
Fundación Villa del Cine is a government-funded Venezuelan film and TV production house that was inaugurated on 3 June 2006 by Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez in the city of Guarenas, near the capital, Caracas.
The cinema of Venezuela is the production and industry of filmmaking in Venezuela. Andreina Gómez is a Venezuelan filmmaker, ethnologist, and founder of Salinas Producciones C.A. Her documentaries feature cultural and ethnological themes discovered in her research, with her major work focusing on music. She is known for her work as a producer for Water Drums, an Ancestral Encounter which explored how African musical influences appear in Venezuelan music. As of 2015 she was in production for Teresita y El Piano, a documentary of the life of Teresa Carreño. Her productions have appeared in several international film festivals and academic institutions. In addition she works to promote cultural outreach through her films, both within Venezuela and internationally.

Death in Berruecos is a 2018 Venezuelan police drama film created and directed by Caupolicán Ovalles. It is a Venezuelan co-production with Panama through the Ibermedia Program, the Centro Nacional Autónomo de Cinematografía, the Villa del Cine Foundation and SOMOS Films. It was filmed in different locations in countries such as Venezuela, Panama and Ecuador. The film is based on the murder of General Antonio José de Sucre, and revolves around the investigation of Captain Alejandro Godoy, who ten years after the murder of General Antonio José de Sucre, reopens the process of his death and finds that part of the previous file that has been destroyed. The film premiered in Venezuelan cinemas on 13 April 2018.
Intriga tras cámaras is an upcoming Venezuelan telenovela written by Carmelo Castro, from a screenplay by Henry Galué. The series is produced by Quimera Producciones. The filming of the production began in January 2019, was mostly filmed in Caracas, Venezuela, and consists of 60 episodes of one hour. It stars Alexandra Braun, Adrián Delgado, and Carlos Guillermo Haydon.
