SWR is the first studio album by Acid Mothers Temple SWR. Acid Mothers Temple SWR consists of Yoshida Tatsuya of Ruins and Acid Mothers Temple leader Kawabata Makoto and member Tsuyama Atsushi. [2] It was recorded in a single ten-hour session. [1]
Yoshida, Tsuyama, and Kawabata had previously formed the group Seikazoku in 1996. In 1997, they formed Acid Mothers Temple mode HHH as part of the Japanese New Music Festival tour. The group changed its name to Acid Mothers Temple SWR in 2004. [3]
Prior to the release of SWR, the band had released a tour-only CD compilation in 2003 as well as contributed to a Franco Battiato compilation album in 2004. [3]
