Zee Tamil's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2009 Challenge was a reality-based Indian singing competition that aired on Tamil language TV channel Zee Tamil. It was designed to be a talent hunt in Tamil Nadu. The top 15 contestants would have an opportunity to perform with celebrity singers during the main stage of the competition. The show was sponsored by Clinic Plus.

Prem Menon, Zee Tamil TV's business head, confirmed that more than 10,000 aspirants auditioned for the competition throughout Tamil Nadu from which 15 contestants were selected for the competition, before the competition was filtered down to 4 finalists. [1] Top 15 contestant performances and the finals were judged by music director M. S. Viswanathan, veteran playback singers Vani Jairam and Nithyasree Mahadevan, and composer Sharreth. The four finalists of the competition were Anand, Bhargavi, Deepak, and Gopalakrishnan. Contestant Anand was crowned the winner of the competition, with contestant Gopalakrishnan being crowned runner-up and contestant Bhargavi being third-placed in the competition. [1]

The show premiered on 22 June 2009, and episodes were telecast between Mondays and Tuesdays each week at 9:00 pm. [2] Encore telecasts were aired on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 pm, as well as Saturdays and Sundays each week at 8:00 pm..

Male contestants picked out a female celebrity singer randomly from a bowl, while female contestants picked out a male celebrity singer from the other bowl.

Round of 15 (4 August 2009 – 5 August 2009)

This week, 15 contestant-singer duos would each present a duet song in front of judges M.S. Viswanathan and Nityashree Mahadevan. [2] Following the 15 performances which were described as "scintillating" by The Hindu , [2] a contestant-singer duo was eliminated from the competition, leaving 14 playback singers and 14 contestants remaining in the competition.

Round of 7: Freestyle Round (28 September 2009 – 29 September 2009)

This round was a freestyle contestant which permitted the contestants to perform any song they wish. Contestant Deepak and celebrity Vinaya were selected last, and sang the song "Chippi Irukkuthu" originally sung by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam & S. Janaki, with lyrics penned by Kannadasan and music composed by M. S. Viswanathan from the 1980 film Varumayin Niram Sivappu. Anshu and Mansi remained in the elimination circle to face elimination.

Finals

The finals were held at Kamarajar Arangam. [1] The competition was judged by renowned music personalities, including music director M. S. Viswanathan, as well as veteran playback singers Vani Jairam and Nithyasree Mahadevan, [1] and composer Sharreth. Celebrity playback singers and eliminated contestants also attended the event to support the finalists. Other celebrity personalities were also in attendance at the event and spotted in the audience, including in particular actor-director Cheran, music composer Ramesh Vinayakam, playback singer Chinmayi, and others.

At the conclusion of the performances, the judges selected the winner of the competition.

Contestant Anand was crowned the winner of the competition, with contestant Gopalakrishnan being crowned runner-up and contestant Bhargavi being third-placed in the competition. [1]

The second season of Airtel Super Singer Junior - Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal(the search for the sweet voice of Tamil Nadu) premiered on 22 June 2009. The music competition reality TV show was again telecast on Vijay TV, and Bharti Airtel returned to sponsor this show. Episodes were telecast between Monday and Thursday each week at 9:00 pm. Children aged 6 years to 14 showcased their singing talent. The show initially promised that its winner would receive 25 lakhs in prize money, which was later changed to a villa in Anugraha Satellite Town valued at 25 lakhs by its sponsor, Navashakthi Township and Developers.

Airtel Super Singer 2006Thamizhagathil Brahmaanda Kuralukkaana Thedal, the first season of the Airtel Super Singer show and Vijay TV's Super Singer series, was a reality TV singing competition in the Tamil language that aired on Star Vijay and was hosted by singer/voice artist Chinmayi Sripaada. It is a singing talent hunt for the children of age group 6–15. This is the junior version of the Airtel Super Singer show, which premiered on 28 April 2006. Auditions are held in various parts of Tamil Nadu, India. The show attracts many kids from all over the state and rigorous multi-level selection procedures are done in order to select the contestants for the competition.

Sangeetha Mahayuddham, also known as Amul Sangeetha Mahayuddham, is a 2010–2012 Indian reality TV singing competition in the Tamil language that was broadcast on Sun TV.

The third season of Airtel Super Singer Junior - Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal premiered on 17 October 2011 and 26 October 2012. The music competition reality TV show was again telecast on Vijay TV, and Bharti Airtel returned to sponsor the show. Episodes were telecast between Monday to Friday each week at 9:00pm. Children from the age of 6 years to the age of 14 years were permitted to audition to showcase their talent on Vijay TV's platform. Aajeedh Khalique was crowned the winner of Airtel Super Singer Junior Season 3. Pragathy Guruprasad was the first runner up.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Tamil is an 2017 Indian-Tamil language reality singing television show, airs on Zee Tamil and streamed on ZEE5. The show based on the Hindi Language show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Over five years, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has rolled out three seasons and Archana Chandhoke has continued as a host for three seasons. The show serves a sequel to the 2016 shows as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs.
